Bleasdale has been using cabernet franc in blends for over 25 years, but the ’21 vintage demanded this should be bottled as a 100% varietal. Destemmed for whole-berry open fermentation, pressed at 4 baumé, matured in used French puncheons and tank for 5 months. Low SO2 usage. Magenta-crimson hue, brilliant clarity. High-toned bursts of raspberries and flowers lead the way into a light-bodied, delicious wine that demands immediate consumption.

A multi vintage Sparkling Shiraz that contains reserve wines going back to 1997, Bleasdale freshening up the base blend every Spring by adding a portion of new vintage Shiraz to it. Fermentation takes place in open vats before maturation in a mixture of seasoned oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.

A plush, richly flavoured sparkling Shiraz.

A frothy purple tinge mousse shows good hold over a black dark coloured base wine that’s finely threaded by a nibble stream of tiny bubbles. Lifted blackberry, dark chocolate and liquorice scents combine with vanilla, light toast and traces of earth. Rich, full and satiny, the palate is awash with blackberry and liquorice fruits which create a luscious textural feel. Vanillin oak, subtle dark chocolate and earth elements also chime in. Medium to full-bodied, sandy tannin, plum, and chocolate dipped strawberries, baking spices, with a grainy finish of good length. Plenty of flavour and a good amount to chew on. Value is bang on. The Whaler is a blend of Barossa Valley (75%) and Eden Valley (25%) fruit. The Barossa Valley vineyard is situated on the heavy red soils of the warm western ridge. Grapes from the cooler Eden Valley are sourced from two vineyards situated at either end of the valley, in Moculta and Craneford.
The Barossa Valley component providing fleshy dark berry fruit characters and density, while the Eden Valley component contributes elegance and bright wild berry fruited aromatic lift. A small percentage of whole bunch fruit was included in the ferment with maturation taking place in a mix of new and seasoned hogsheads for a period of 14 months.

Powerful fruits, glossy tannins and a plush texture make for an incredibly seductive Barossa Shiraz.

Matured 20 months in French oak, then 2 years bottle ageing to bring out the best in classical Langhorne Creek cabernet. A relative new comer to the Barossa wine scene, long time Barossa enthusiasts Trevor and Marilyn Hatch purchased an established vineyard in Eden Valley’s Keyneton region in 2007. The long time Sunshine Coast residents made many visits to the Barossa Valley over the years and fell in love with the wines so much so that they purchased the historic Tanunda Cellars bottle shop in the late 1990’s. Trevor also became involved in wholesale and retail sales of Barossa wines in Queensland. With a farming background in avocado and persimmon Trevor decided to combine this with his experience and knowledge of the wine industry and purchased a vineyard to produce his own wine. The property, a working vineyard for well over a century boasts what is believed to be some of the oldest Riesling vines in Australia - planted back in 1896. The Shiraz vines planted in in the 1930’s and 1950’s  have previously supplied fruit that has gone into making Yalumba’s flagship Octavius Shiraz.

Resistance will prove futile to this plush, seductively rich and complex Eden Valley Shiraz.

The Zip Line Shiraz fruit comes from a mixture of vines planted in 1927, the mid 1980’s and some younger vines planted in 2008. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Captivating the olfactory senses are dark plum, liquorice and fennel aromas which are complimented by vanillin cedar, dried herb, hints of mocha and spice. Rich, concentrated and silky textured the medium to full bodied palate is saturated with cascading waves of dark plum and liquorice fruit. Notions of vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered dried herbs lend further interest. Boasting outstanding power, its plush and opulent, has cashmere like tannins and finishes long, sleek and lavish.

Simon Osicka (of Heathcote's longest running producer Paul Osicka) started Bull Lane Wine Company with his partner Alison Phillips in 2011. Simon has made wine both in Australia as well as France, Germany, Italy and Canada whilst Alison has extensive viticultural experience both in Australia and the United States.
Fruit is sourced from 8 rows from a single vineyard on the eastern side of the Mt Camel Range.  This part of the vineyard is located half way up the hill where the red soil in less deep, which naturally reduces the yield.
Dense black as night heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated scents of dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fill the nostrils with hints of choc mint, vanillin oak and spicy earth also evident. Rich succulent blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and dark chocolate flavours engulf the full bodied palate. Subtlety toasted vanillin oak, earthy fennel and spice characters lie underneath. Plush and opulently textured it possesses velvet smooth tannins and concludes long, deeply fruited and seductive.

    Other Reviews....
Very Australian aromatically, with red pastilles, peppermint after-dinner mint and menthol notes. Yet the tannins are svelte and plush, conferring class and an element of impressive refinement to what initially comes across as a burly, four-square wine. With that in mind, this is a large-framed wine of two parts: the Aussie attack and the burlesque finish, all satin velour and linger. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The initials RP stand for Robyn Pamela, Nick Farr’s mum and matriarch of the Farr family. The fruit for this wine is sourced from the Côte Vineyard, it’s a close-planted parcel on an exposed slope, with hillsides facing north, northeast and east comprising of the most suitable clones, rootstocks, trellising and management you’ll find on the Farr’s landscape. Fruit is handpicked and sorted in the vineyard, then fermented in an open-top fermenter. Between 40 to 50% of the fruit will be destemmed and then cold soaked for four days. Maturation takes place in 50 to 60% new Allier French oak barrels for 18 months.

A touch over 2.5 acres, the Tout Pres vineyard has three individual soil types across a three-sided cirque (an amphitheatre-like valley head) that rises above the other vineyards. Each slope consists of a soil type. The largest slope is black volcanic soil of limestone, the second is quartz gravel mixed with red ironstone soil and the third, an iron strand in grey sandy loam. Being the most densely planted vineyard on the estate the soils and intense competition force the vines to work hard, resulting in fruit that is lush but masculine and provides the coveted structure found only in the most age worthy wines. Tout Pres is fermented with 100% whole bunches and is matured in 100% new Allier French oak.

The Farrside vineyard consists of black volcanic soil over limestone on a northeast- facing slope. The vine rows run east to west to shade the fruit from over exposure. It’s a mixture of 114, 115, 777, 667 and MV6 clones. Although the Farrside and Sangreal vineyards are only 300m apart, the differing conditions mean that this vineyard is picked 10 to 12 days later. The fruit is hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard, then fermented in an open-top fermenter. Roughly 40-50% of the fruit will be destemmed and then cold soaked for four days. Winemaker Nick Farr uses only the natural yeast for the fermentation process, which takes roughly 12 days. Grape-stomping (known as pigeage) will occur two to three times a day depending on the amount of extraction required, and the wine is then placed in 50-60% new Allier barrels by gravity. It is racked by gas after secondary fermentation, then again at 18 months to be bottled.

    Other Reviews....
The structure of this wine is next level. It's a meaty, minerally, undergrowth-driven pinot noir with cool cherry and herb flavours, rhubarb-like bass notes, an emphatic firmness and excellent length. The dryness of the finish here is something in itself: it's like twigs rolled in earth rolled in tobacco. Drink to 2032.

The Sangreal Vineyard is the oldest planting (1994) on a north-facing slope of red ironstone on the surface going to limestone to bluestone below. The rows run north to south, gaining full sun exposure throughout the day and resulting in prettier, more perfumed wines. It’s always the first vineyard to be harvested and is consistently made with 70% whole bunch and aged in new oak for 18 months.

    Other Reviews....
The By Farr team is completely unafraid of (anything, really, but most especially) tannin and firmness, thanks to inherent confidence in, and knowledge of, the fact that it serves their wines so well. This wine is an excellent case in point, its twiggy herb, undergrowth, and smoky-sweet oak flavours combine beautifully with sweet, convincing red and black cherry flavours, the whole then commandingly pulled together by firm, dry, ripe tannin. This is a truly beautiful wine, pinned to the spot in the best of ways. Drink by 2032.

Shiraz fruit comes from the original By Farr vineyard, planted in 1994. It lies on a north-facing slope, and the red volcanic soil has a base of limestone with deep-set sandstone. All fruit is hand-picked from the VSP trellising, with 20 per cent left as whole bunches in the fermentation. Most years between 2 and 4 per cent viognier is co-ferment with the shiraz. Fermentation is started by indigenous yeast, with the fruit mecareting in the tank for 19 days before pressing. The wine is matured for 18 months in French oak (20% being new oak), and is bottled under vacuum.

    Other Reviews....
Nick Farr knows how to make wine. That’s my t-shirt slogan for today, and if any retailer prints it I’ll buy one.
This is a glorious cool-climate shiraz. It’s sweet, it’s savoury, it’s truffly, it’s massed with roasted nut characters and it’s many other things besides. There is so much gorgeousness here. It’s built on cherries, plums, toffees, twigs, spices and leaves, but that’s just the starters. It’s tight too, and as it expands and unfolds it keeps its tannin and acid rigidly in place; it’s always a marvel to see a backline, in football of all codes, hold its formation as the chaos of attack is unleashed, and that’s what this wine is like. It holds its shape as the dream is laid out. It’s super. Drink 2024 - 2034+

Lifted cooler climatic notes of charcuterie, lilac, clove and dried kelp. An excellent nose, with hints of briar and dill suggesting a good portion of whole bunches in the mix. A skein of peppery, juicy acidity drags this to exceptional length, sublimating the edginess of the whole-bunch quotient into an impressive, greater whole. This is fine shiraz, auguring for development over eight years in bottle. Drink or hold.

The winemaking process focuses on preserving the richness and complexity derived from the demanding cultivation conditions. The Pinot Noir is usually processed with a 20 to 40-day skin contact, and natural fermentations occur without added substances. Before fermentation, there's a gentle soaking phase with hand plunging. The wines are aged for a long time (18-20 months) in French oak barrels (15% new, 15% second use, 70% older), followed by an extra three months of bottle aging before release.
