Established by Captain Stentiford in 1893 the Laira Vineyards was purchased by Eric Brand and his wife Nancy in 1950. Throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s they sold their fruit to larger wineries before releasing the first Brand's Laira wine in 1966. Eric and his sons continued to produce wine at Brand’s Laira until 1994 when the McWilliam’s family purchased the property. Casella wines now own the vineyard.

A rich, expressive Coonawarra Cabernet that delivers exceptional value.

Midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Drifting through the nostrils are red to black currant and mulberry scents which intermingle with some subtle cedary tobacco and spicy bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant, liquorice and mulberry fruits show excellent depth and concentration across the mid weighted palate with notions of dusty vanillin cedar, tobacco, black olive and spicy bay leaf lingering through the back half. Texturally polished with seamlessly integrated, fine grained tannins, it finishes long, refined and generously fruited.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
