2021 Bowen Estate Coonawarra Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in American oak barriques. Midnight black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Intense liquorice, blackberry and dark plum scents leap out of the glass followed by some vanillin cedar, hints of dark chocolate, earth and spice. Rich and fleshy but not as heavy as past vintages, the mid weighted palate is layered with red to dark plum and liquorice fruits which overlay some earthy vanillin cedar, subtle dark chocolate and pepper. Polished tannins with a relatively youthful medium length conclusion. A slightly fresher and more refined rendition of Bowen Estate Shiraz.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
