Bud burst refers to the first emergence of new grapevine shoots in early spring, signalling the beginning of the all-important growing season for vignerons. A blend of 46% Grenache, 44% Shiraz and 10% Mataro matured in a combination of new and seasoned oak hogsheads. Very deep black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Heady dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum aromas fill the nostrils with some earthy dark chocolate and vanillin spice notes also chiming in. Rich, plump and concentrated, the medium to full bodied palate is swamped with dark plum, liquorice and dark raspberry fruits with some dark chocolate and earthy vanillin like characters lurking beneath. Fleshy mouth feel and polished tannins with a long spicy, deeply fruited and opulent conclusion. Great value.
