The 2022 chardonnay wines show off a bit of extra bandwidth it seems. Lots on. Always stellar chardonnay from Neudorf.
This has a softness and easy appeal. Sweet citrus meets red apple joins nougat, ginger lemon honey tea and cashew. Lots of fragrance, good, juicy and slick texture with a pleasing, talc-like mineral finish and great extension of flavour. Sits softly in the palate, a richer, but not too rich feel to the wine, with generosity of everything a byword in this description. It feels super pleasing and full of character. Nice one. 2015 Nikolaihof Gruner Veltliner Im Weingebirge SmaragdWachau, AUSTRIA$150. 00Bottle$1800.00 DozenABV: 12.5%Closure: CorkOther Reviews....
Bottled at the end of April this year, the 2015 Im Weingebirge Grüner Veltliner Smaragd is clear, deep and intense on the nose with its subtle aromas of crushed stones and lemons. Some animal leather and wild boar scents here as well. Full-bodied and intense but also very elegant and finessed on the palate, this is a lush and impressively long and very tensioned, highly expressive Smaragd made for decades. Its slightly oxidative style reminds me of traditional white Riojas, but the crystalline acidity and mineral character is clearly Wachau. A potential top-scorer, but the wine is far too young to be served today. 12.5% alcohol. Drink 2030 - 2060.

2011 Olivier Leflaive Meursault 1er Cru GenevrieresBurgundy, FRANCE$150. 00Bottle$1800.00 DozenAs the largest village in the Cote de Beaune, Meursault has a winemaking history dating back to Roman times. Often seen as the richest and most rounded of the main white appellations in Burgundy, there are still stylistic differences across the large area. While there are no Grand Cru vineyards in Meursault, three 1er Cru plots stand apart as genuine rivals to the best whites in Burgundy; Perrieres, Charmes, and Genevrieres.
Other Reviews....
A notably exotic nose features exceptionally fresh and pure aromas of various white flowers, spice elements, black tea and citrus nuances. Here too there is a wonderfully refined mouth feel to the more obviously mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess ample punch and detail on the balanced and dry finish.

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2011 from Olivier Leflaive might well be the single wine that shocked everyone by its class. It certainly has the most nuanced and well-defined bouquet of the flight, positively exuding minerality with touches of greengage and citrus peel coming through. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, good tension and focus with a touch of spice and sea-salt lining the composed and persistent finish. Impressive. Very impressive.

Neal Martin - eRobertParker.com Nov 2014This is well-marked by new oak, with plenty of stuffing underneath. Notes of lime, white flowers, apple, sweet spice and petrol ride a wave of vibrant acidity as this stays linear and defined through the long finish. Wine SpectatorA very restrained nose only reluctantly reveals its cache of green fruit, apple, wet stone and citrus nuances. There is excellent size, weight and intensity to the mineral-driven and markedly saline flavors that culminate in a vibrant, clean and lingering finish that is somewhat oddly a bit one-dimensional. The underlying material seems to be very solid and my range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will become notably better than it is showing today.

2009 Olivier Leflaive Puligny MontrachetBurgundy, FRANCE$69. 99Bottle$839.88 DozenCellar: 4 - 5 Years (2016-2017)ABV: 13.5%Closure: CorkBrilliant pale straw colour with watery hue. Like the Chassagne-Montrachet the nose is somewhat closed revealing subtle notes of white peach, citrus, biscuit and cashew. The palate is more expressive than the nose but is nonetheless the most elegant of the trio of 2009 Olivier Leflaive white burgundies tasted showing flavours of white peach, cashew, biscuity nuttiness and spice. Clean dry finish. Aftertaste of delicate white peach, cashew and spice. This wine will build some further weight and texture with bottle age.
Cellar 4-5 years (2016-2017).

2011 Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru PucellesBurgundy, FRANCE$180. 00Bottle$2160.00 DozenOften seen as the premier village for White Burgundy, not least due to the fact it contains four Grand Cru vineyards along with some of the very best Premier Cru sites. Wines from Puligny often have very precise, floral notes and are generally finer than those of Chassagne and Meursault.
Other Reviews....
Elegance and delicacy are the hall marks of this seamless white. The lemon cake, apple and mineral flavors are deftly accented by toast and spice. The elements all come together on the mouthwatering finish.

Wine SpectatorTasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles 2011 from Olivier Leflaive is a conservative and linear nose the is pleasingly focused, with slate and tertiary scents unfurling nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, but it does not quite possess the tension or the depth of the previous wines in the fight. There is an atractive feminity here and should drink well over the next 5-8 years.

Neal Martin - eRobertParker.com Nov 2014A distinctly spicy nose also offers up notes of honeysuckle, citrus and white-fleshed orchard fruit aromas. There is a really lovely and refined texture to the silky medium weight flavors that are really quite delicious but lack just a bit of the verve displayed by the Folatières and not quite the same fine depth either. Still, this is very good and very Pucelles in character.

2011 Olivier Leflaive Meursault 1er Cru PerrieresBurgundy, FRANCE$150. 00Bottle$1800.00 DozenAs the largest village in the Cote de Beaune, Meursault has a winemaking history dating back to Roman times.

Classic Burgundian nose with aromas of cashew, light white peach, spice and biscuit with a hint of toast as an end note showing very good lift and complexity. Still relatively youthful, some additional bottle age will fill out the palate and build further complexity. Flavours of cashew, citrus and spice followed by some biscuit and light toast. Clean dry finish with aftertaste of cashew, spice and biscuit. A very refined, elegant Chardonnay that’s a great introduction to White Burgundy.

A faint note of mineral reduction combines with elegant and layered aromas of green apple, pear and acacia that are in keeping with the obvious refinement of the clean, cool and relatively precise flavors that exhibit a silky mouth feel on the classy and stylish finish that is finer but not necessarily more complex or longer.Tasted: Feb 01, 2011.

This is rich and open, offering lime, baking spice and apple flavors. The structure emerges on the finish, with a mix of quinine and spice notes.

Wine SpectatorThe expressive nose of extract of yellow orchard fruit, acacia blossom and a hint of wet stone is trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is good volume and outstanding delineation to the delicious and intense medium weight flavors that possess plenty of punch on the solidly persistent and complex finish. This is one to consider.
