2011 Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatieres
Often seen as the premier village for White Burgundy, not least due to the fact it contains four Grand Cru vineyards along with some of the very best Premier Cru sites. Wines from Puligny often have very precise, floral notes and are generally finer than those of Chassagne and Meursault.

This is rich and open, offering lime, baking spice and apple flavors. The structure emerges on the finish, with a mix of quinine and spice notes.

The expressive nose of extract of yellow orchard fruit, acacia blossom and a hint of wet stone is trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is good volume and outstanding delineation to the delicious and intense medium weight flavors that possess plenty of punch on the solidly persistent and complex finish. This is one to consider.
