Compare leading whisky styles before you buy...

Understanding the differences between major whisky styles available through our online wine retail store helps you select bottles that suit your palate and collection goals.

Single malt Scotch whisky — Produced at one distillery using malted barley, often defined by regional character such as peated Islay, fruit-driven Speyside or robust Highland expressions.

Blended Scotch whisky — A combination of malt and grain whiskies crafted to achieve a consistent house style. Our collection includes recognised names such as Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker, Black Douglas and other notable producers.

American whisky — Including bourbon and rye, matured in new oak barrels that contribute notes of caramel, vanilla and spice shaped by corn-dominant mash bills. Rye expressions often show a firmer spice character, while bourbon tends to present a richer, rounder profile driven by oak influence and time in cask.

Irish whisky — Traditionally triple distilled, often lighter in texture with a smooth, fruit-focused profile. Many styles emphasise approachability and balance, with subtle orchard fruit, gentle spice and soft oak character developed through careful maturation.

Australian whisky — Produced by both established and emerging distilleries, influenced by local climate and innovative cask selection and increasingly recognised on the global stage.

Discover respected distilleries with proven heritage.

Distillery identity shapes much of our collection. Water source, still design, fermentation and maturation all influence a recognisable house style. Within our store, established Scottish distilleries sit alongside emerging Australian producers, offering bottles defined by tradition and innovation.

Our range also includes independent bottlings drawn from individual casks that capture a distinct moment in a distillery’s output. For collectors exploring our selection, provenance extends beyond geography to include production methods, bottling details and documented history, adding depth to every bottle considered.
