Bertrand Uberach Jaune Paien Single Cask Single Malt French Whisky (500ml)

Bertrand has built a reputation for high-quality fruit-based eau-de-vies. Since 2012, the owners have also been preoccupied with single malts using their Holstein still (a pot and column combo). French oak is a feature of the project. Former 'Vin Jaune' barrels are amongst the preferred selections. Known as "France's answer to sherry," these casks previously held dry white wine from Jura in eastern France, made from late-harvest Savagnin grapes. These finishes are becoming more common in French whisky, so they obviously work in a complementary fashion. Think yellow stone fruit flavours and hints of citrus. Bertrand's limited edition is produced in batches of around 400 bottles. 49.2% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
