Boatrocker Four Grain Overproof Australian Whisky (500ml) - 50%

A higher-ABV expression of the Melbourne-based distillery's bourbon-style whisk(e)y. Bottled at 50% ABV rather than the standard 40%, it maintains the 51% corn, 31% rye, 6% barley and 12% wheat mash bill with aging in high-char virgin American oak. Biscuity malt, light rye and Bourbon wood feature in the off-dry nose, the other grains granted a lesser showing; Medium bodied, cereal-forward flavours develop with a spicy edge; discreet, oily rye competes with rich oak in a chewy finish. Better balanced sweet'n'spicy Australian whisky would be hard to name. 50% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producers... Expect bold yet balanced notes of vanillin and brown sugar, sweetness from the corn, gentle rye spice and a hint of mint on the nose. Great to drink neat with a drop of water, or as a base in spirit forward cocktails.
