So it comes as no surprise that Taiwan has unveiled its very own distillery. Since 2008, Kavalan's output has spanned a remarkable breadth - from traditional 'Speyside' styles through to more robust wine and Sherry influenced expressions. In spite of their youth, the quality has confounded many critics and a natural strength release even breached the mythical 3 digit barrier, rated 100 points by the highly respected ‘Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago (now sold out). As small batch releases, expect the whiskies to show some natural variation from batch to batch.
