Always interesting to compare Solist sherry releases. This takes a drier, nuttier trajectory with a fresh peel lift to the nose and a bittersweet arrival that fans out in typical Kavalan fashion: Dates, roasted nuts, rancio and dried coconut are countered by bittersweet dark chocolate, citrus peel and spicy astringency. Not quite as exuberant as some previous picks, the style here is akin to a well-aged Armagnac that unfolds with extended time in the glass. 239 bottles are on offer for Australian fans.
