The fruit here is sourced from the twelve-hectare Vine Vale Vineyard, which was planted in 1960. Grapes are destemmed and after fermentation, spend a year and a half in French oak barrels for maturation. Dark maroon in hue, aromas of spices, herbs, cloves, soy, aniseed, blackberries, bay leaves and cranberries are all evident. Plush and generous, there are abundant tannins, which are fine and furry. Acidity runs the length. This is bright, fresh and that intensity never wavers. A thoroughly enjoyable Barossa Shiraz. Enjoy this over the next ten to twelve years. Drink 2026-2038.

A blend of fruit from the Moorabool Valley and Bellarine Peninsulas. 20% new oak and 20% mlf. A bright green gold. Aromas of ripe nectarine, apple blossom, a lick of vanillin and light sea spray scents lead onto the palate, which is flavoursome and nicely balanced. - 1999 Single Cask Nation Diamond (Uitvlugt) 24 Year Old Cask Strength Guyana Rum (700ml)GUYANA$320. 00Bottle$3840.00 DozenABV: 50.1%
Distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2023, this rare edition from the now dismantled Uitvlugt Distillery in Guyana will be prized by collectors as one of the last from the original set up. Uitvlugt continues to operate today as a sugar refinery and producer of molasses, however the equipment used for rum production reportedly ceased operation in 2000 (or at the end of 1999, depending on your sources). The column still was moved to the Diamond distillery, home of the exceptional El Dorado rums. Distilled in February 1999, this indie release is said to showcase the distinct, sometimes "briny" or "olive-y" characteristics of the original Uitvlugt stills, alongside notes of guava paste, dried mango, abundant black liquorice and dark roasted coffee. 219 bottles were drawn from a second fill Bourbon hogshead. 50.1% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

The third time only that our spirits collection has stocked this Brazilian oddity, hailing from the Epris distillery, a large scale and modern operation near São Paolo, where they also distill for Bacardi. Bottlings can vary, though generally they will not be light ‘tropical’ styles for cocktails, rather genuine malternatives boasting body and character. In this case, notes of tropical fruit, roasted agave, pepper & cane remain intact after twelve years in a Bourbon barrel. The yield was 258 bottles at a natural strength of 52.7% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

- 2005 Single Cask Nation Loch Lomond (Croftengea) 18 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)Highlands, SCOTLAND$299. 00Bottle$3588.00 DozenABV: 50.6%
The Loch Lomond Distillery is truly a one-of-a-kind set up with three different still types (Pot Stills, Lomond Stills, and Column Stills), four different yeast types, and varying barley types (unpeated, moderately peated, and heavily peated). It's all because they make different styles of malts, grains and blends with names such as Inchfad, Rhosdhu, Craiglodge, Inchmoan, or indeed Inchmurrin and Croftengea. When well selected, the latter beats quite a few peaters from Scotland’s mainland. And some from the islands too! This edition from Single Cask Nation comes with a considerable age statement. 284 bottles were decanted from a second fill Bourbon hogshead. 50.6% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
- 2016 Single Cask Nation Ardnamurchan 6 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)Highlands, SCOTLAND$220. 00Bottle$2640.00 DozenABV: 58.9%
An unpeated Ardnamurchan distilled in 2016 and aged for six years in a first fill bourbon barrel. The label notes suggest a whisky that's “Bright and fruity, yet quite savoury”. 1299 bottles produced. 58.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Other reviews... A gentle hint of fruitiness caresses the senses, while the tempting notes of vanilla and wood extend a warm invitation. Rose petals dance lightly in the background, accompanied by a seductive spice. The dram makes me curious. A hint of fruit gum juice gives the nose a playful note and brings back memories of summer days. The first sip is a gentle introduction to a world full of flavors. Delicate pepper notes dance on the tongue, accompanied by the subtle bitterness of peach peel, which encloses a subtle sweetness. The complexity continues to unfold with a fine chili spiciness in the finish. The addition of water reveals a new dimension to this whisky. The pepper becomes more intense, while the sweetness recedes significantly, giving way to a hint of tart fruit peel or grape seeds. It is a journey full of contrasts that underlines the complexity of this unique wine and takes the senses to a new level. - whiskybase.com

Philip Rich - James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion - 2014 Single Cask Nation Stones of Stenness (Orkney) 9 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)Orkney Islands, SCOTLAND$169. 99Bottle$2039.88 DozenABV: 58.8%
Other reviews... It actually spent its last 75 months in 1st fill bourbon, which certainly qualifies as ‘maturation,’ doesn’t it? By the way, Stenness is a stunning alignment of standing stones, located far west of Kirkwall. Colour: gold. Nose: gentler, more composed, and more urbane than many others, yet the barley DNA is unmistakable. Fresh brioche, bread, beer, perhaps a few lentils, and touches of mashed potatoes (50% potatoes, 50% butter, 20% olive oil, naturally). With water: smoke comes to the fore, alongside slag and ashes. Mouth (neat): absolutely beautiful—assertive, lemony, and peppery, with a powerful punch that borders on violent due to all the pepper, but citrus fruits step in masterfully to restore balance. With water: ash and lemon take charge, resolving everything. Finish: long, with even more smoky, salty lemon. Comments: there’s a faint Islay-like character in this Highland Park, but that’s not unheard of. Truly excellent.
87 points - whiskyfun.com - 2014 Single Cask Nation Westland 11 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt American Whisky (700ml)Washington State, UNITED STATES$220. 00Bottle$2640.00 DozenABV: 49.8%
Founded in 2011, independent bottlers Single Cask Nation are based in the United States, so you'd expect more than a few American whiskeys to appear in their portfolio. Here's an interesting one from the latest shipment. Set in the heart of downtown Seattle, Westland is one of the largest (if not the largest) single malt distillery in the country. The facility itself is home to a 5,000-litre mash house that operates full-time, seven days a week filling 10,000-litre fermenters. The stills perform a traditional double distillation before the spirit is goes into a variety of full-size oak casks including two types of new American oak, ex-bourbon casks and also ex-sherry casks imported fresh and whole from Montilla, Spain. Once filled, all of the distillery's whiskeys are brought to the coast of Washington State, where the temperate and humid climate of the rainforest offers an ideal environment for maturation. The outturn here was 198 bottles after four years and eight months finishing in a first fill Banyuls barrique. Expect notes of caramel, dried fruit, chocolate and oak. 49.8% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
- 1986 Chateau de Laubade Bas Armagnac (700ml)Armagnac, FRANCE$320. 00Bottle$3840.00 DozenABV: 40%
Château de Laubade's remaining stocks run through the decades, in this case, all the way back to 1986. The house was built in 1870 in the heart of the noblest area of the AOC Bas Armagnac and is today considered by many as the premier Armagnac property composed of 105 hectares of vineyards. Four traditional grape varieties: Ugni-Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco (the most emblematic) are grown via sustainable agriculture.
Because they're prominently labelled with the year of production, Vintage Armagnacs have become hugely popular as gifts whereby birthdays and anniversaries can be marked by a singular bottle - a way to turn back the clock via a liquid time capsule, rekindle memories and reflect. If you're lucky enough to secure a Vintage Armagnac but aren't ready to open it, store it upright so the alcohol doesn't attack the cork, in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, there's no hurry to finish it. These spirits don't oxidise quickly like a wine or Vintage Port, but they are best consumed within a few years, as recommended by the BNIA (Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac). This edition was bottled in October 2025. 40% Alc./Vol.
- Kinglake Distillery Breakfast Rye Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)Victoria, AUSTRALIA$134. 99Bottle$1619.88 DozenABV: 46%
Aged in organic rye casks from Michigan, this whisky takes Kinglake's distinctive, mountain-born single malt and pushes it into brighter, zestier territory. The rye drives a lively sweetness—spicy honeycomb, sharp citrus, baked apple still warm from the oven—before tapering out into a soft crackle of pepper across the finish.
It’s a release designed to shift expectations a little, to give loyal followers something new to smile about, and to offer first-time discoverers a glimpse of the creativity the distillery enjoys. 46% Alc./Vol.
- Kinglake Distillery Double Wood Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)Victoria, AUSTRALIA$134. 99Bottle$1619.88 DozenABV: 46.1%
Most Australian whisky distilleries focus on ex-fortified or wine-barrel ageing, however Kinglake made it their early ambition to become Australia’s ex-bourbon single malt specialist. They produce one of the most distinctive new-make spirits and aim for cask influence to balance this rather than being the star of show. American oak is best suited for this. That said they've also had some incredible results with fortified barrels. These have now come to an end, leading to a new member of the core line, the Double Wood. The first barrels were filled back in 2018: Three gorgeous old Portuguese tawny port barriques. Their size has given the spirit an elegant French oak complexity with just a very subtle fortified richness. Married with the first larger format ex-bourbon barrels, it ensures that whilst the toffee’s, vanillas and caramels which Kinglake whisky is known for are still very much keynotes, the French oak complexity adds another level of detail.
Notes from the producers... Ex-bourbon toffee’s, vanillas and caramels overlaid with a delicate French oak complexity. Just a hint of smoke and milk chocolate from our four grain mashbill. Our wide-cuts approach to the second distillation, as always, adds soft tobacco and leather and a ‘come-back-for-more’ chewy mouthfeel and viscosity.
- 2006 Chateau de Laubade Bas Armagnac (700ml)Armagnac, FRANCE$240. 00Bottle$2880.00 DozenABV: 40%
Château de Laubade's was built in 1870 in the heart of the noblest area of the AOC Bas Armagnac and is today considered by many as the premier Armagnac property composed of 105 hectares of vineyards.
This edition was bottled in November 2025. 40% Alc./Vol. Extremely limited stocks.

This "sherry-on-sherry" box set sees the Michel Couvreur single malt matured in the exact same casks that matured the Toro Albalá PX sherry. The latter offers an intense, viscous sweetness, while the whisky provides the heat, oak, and spice of a mature spirit, balancing the dried fruits with a slight woody bitterness. Labelled as "Young Blossoming", it was distilled in 2003 and bottled without chill filtration in 2025 with an outturn of 620 bottles. Because both drinks share similar flavours, they're a natural pairing for a truly luxurious tasting experience.
- Kinglake Distillery O'Grady's Stand Single Malt Australian Whisky (700ml)Victoria, AUSTRALIA$134. 99Bottle$1619.88 DozenABV: 46%
Aged in small-format re-coopered ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky, ‘O’Grady’s Stand, the house signature and spiritual backbone of Kinglake. Built from a four-malt mash bill - three drawn from Griffiths in NSW (including one roasted to a decadent chocolate) and a smoky recruit from the Scottish Borders - it’s all stitched together into a rich, oily spirit designed to hold its ground. 46% alc./Vol.
Other reviews... A new distillery in Oz that started in 2018, just north east of Melbourne, in Victoria. This is a single malt and carbon-neutral, well I'm not 100% sure it's still carbon-neutral once it's reached France (ha, S.) Colour: gold. Nose: love, it's got something of an 'American west-coast malt whisky', with some rather profound fermentary notes, all kinds of dark breads, banana cakes, spice bread, some deeper chardonnay (you can find chardonnay while there isn't any chardonnay, you see) and the not-so unusual spicy quartet, ginger – turmeric – nutmeg – cinnamon. Plus custard tart once more. Very lovely and it looks like no corners were cut this time. Mouth: big punch, oak spices and yellow fruits and custard are somewhat stretching themselves thin but it holds. Cakes, breads, and more of that spicy quartet we've just mentioned, big mirabelles, and some kind of spicy and grassy smokiness, as when chefs would smoke some dishes using hay. Did anyone ever try to smoke malted barley using hay? Finish: long, with some milk chocolate and Italian hazelnut paste. Oranges in the aftertaste. Comments: very good, modern, spicy… It would be interesting to try this juice after a few extra-years of mellowing in re-re-refill casks. 84 points - whiskyfun.com
- Clase Azul Dia de Muertos Recuerdos Tequila (1000ml)Jalisco, MEXICO$3999. 00Bottle$47988.00 DozenABV: 40%
The 2025 Día de los Muertos release marks the final chapter of Nuestros Recuerdos, Clase Azul’s five-year exploration of memory, ritual, and remembrance. Created by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, the blend is aged between 12 and 38 months in first-use American whiskey casks. A portion of the agave was cooked using a traditional pit oven method, introducing depth, warmth, and a gentle smoky character from the very start. The resulting spirit is full-bodied and composed, offering aromas of cooked agave, smoked wood, orange peel, caramel, and clove, followed by a palate of orange marmalade, cinnamon spice, and toasted oak, finishing long with lingering citrus and soft smoke.
The 2025 decanter completes the story. Finished in soft ivory tones, it features artwork by Mexican-born, Australia-based artist Erika Rivera, depicting a family ofrenda in quiet detail. At its centre sits a 24-karat gold-plated locket holding an obsidian cameo, a symbolic mirror for returning souls in Día de los Muertos tradition. Strictly limited to 10,000 decanters worldwide, this one litre release is Kosher certified and represents the final, most reflective expression of Nuestros Recuerdos.
