Bols Corenwyn 6 Jaar Gelagerde (1000ml)Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS$89. 99Bottle$1079.88 DozenABV: 40%Corenwyn is an alternative spelling of the generic 'kirenwijn', a high-malt Genever specialty. The style, 'corenwyn' translates as 'grain wine', referring to the high proportion of malt wine (at least 51%) used in the blend. Only Bols is permitted to use Corenwyn as a brand name because it was Lucas Bols himself who first created the drink back in 1575. The term was reserved for the very finest distillations of grain. This 6 year old (6 Jaar Gelagerde) release was launched in 2009 as a limited edition. Other reviews... Only the maturation of this variant of Bols Corenwyn takes place in two types of oak casks; both French Limousin and American oak... Appearance: (bottle No. 035099) Clear, buttery yellow with a hint of green. Aroma: Sweet herbal nose with vanilla, tree bark, ground coriander and thyme. Taste: Silky, slight oily mouth feel, yet dry, spicy and herbal with juniper and light woodiness. Aftertaste: Angelica, ground coriander and nutty balsawood finish with lingering pine flavours. Bombay Star of Bombay London Dry Gin (700ml)UNITED KINGDOM$89. 99Bottle$1079.88 DozenABV: 47.5%Star of Bombay is the new higher strength, super premium variant of Bombay Sapphire, scheduled for limited annual production.
Master of Botanicals, Ivano Tonutti, has taken Sapphire’s existing signature botanicals – Juniper, Coriander, Lemon Peel, Orris, Angelica, Cubeb Berries, Grains of Paradise, Almonds, Liquorice and Cassia Bark – and elevated them by introducing two new hand-selected botanicals: gently dried Bergamot Orange Peel, sourced from the Calabrian mountains, which lends a hint of spicy citrus, and aromatic Ecuadorian Ambrette Seeds, that give a floral muskiness. All the flavour notes in Star of Bombay are slowly vapour-infused through a copper basket under carefully controlled temperatures. Master Distiller, Nik Fordham, adds, “Star of Bombay possesses an extraordinarily smooth and supple character, making it feel more like an aged spirit in the mouth – which is why it can be drunk neat over ice. That’s quite rare for a gin.” Very smartly packaged in a slim tapered light blue bottle with botanical 'etchings' down each side. 47.5% Alc./Vol. Tasting note: Clear. Yields complex and integrated scents of juniper, coriander seed, lemon peel, dried liquorice root and subtle white pepper. Concentrated yet creamy with a piney-juniper, coriander seed focussed mid palate and a black pepper finish; Ends a little lacklustre, with raw root vegetable, white pepper and juniper like flavours suggested in the fade. 47.3% Alc./Vol. -

There's no doubt that alcohol strength plays an important role in flavour delivery. The most exciting taste experiences from spirits usually come from bottlings over 46% ABV. Unfortunately, tax laws in Australia mean that many mainstream spirits are marketed on price first, flavour second.
The temptation for producers to bottle at lower strengths is understandable. They know that their brand will fall into a different tax bracket, so they'll pay less, and ultimately appear more competitively priced to the consumer. The compromise is on flavour. So if you think you've tried Bombay, think again. This 47% bottling is the product everyone else is drinking around the world while we're sipping a second rate parody.
Other reviews... Clear. Grainy aromas of pepper bread, celery salt, floral talc, and faint frittata with a silky dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a tangy, warming citrus marmalade, peppery spice and grassy earth accented finish. Well integrated and stylish. 47% Alc./Vol.

Bombay Sapphire East Vapour Infused Gin (700ml)London, UNITED KINGDOM$79. 99Bottle$959.88 DozenABV: 42%Released in the late 1980's, Bombay Sapphire was the first London Dry to be marketed as a 'super premium' Gin.While many gins before it had taken their flavour from four or five botanicals, most notably, the juniper berry, Bombay Sapphire used no less than ten. At the time, the distilling process also set it apart. Most other gins boiled up the botanicals with the spirit. But with Bombay Sapphire, the spirit was distilled alone. Thus it is in vapour form when it passes through the perforated copper botanicals basket. This process allows each delicate aroma to be absorbed from each respective botanical.
One of the most popular London Dry Gins ever created is now available with the addition of Thai lemongrass and Vietnamese black peppercorns, taking the total of botanicals to a round dozen in this 'East' edition. Bramley & Gage 6 O'clock Gin (700ml)Gloucestershire, UNITED KINGDOM$89. 99Bottle$1079.88 DozenABV: 40%Edward Bramley Kain and Penelope Gage started in the kitchen of their South Devon fruit farm with strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant liqueurs following a 'maceration' method traditional in France. It was a great opportunity to experiment and with the abundance of sloes in the hedges it wasn't long before Bramley's Sloe Gin made it onto the shelves of local stores. After 10 years of farming soft fruit and making fruit liqueurs, Edward and Penelope sold the farm and moved into a dedicated building with a small bottling line and larger scale facilities.
Now 20 years on son Michael and daughter Felicity run the business, still making the liqueurs in exactly the same way - in small batches giving the freshest flavours possible.
6 O'Clock gin is Bramley and Gage’s latest venture. Inspired by his forefather, Edward Kain (known for restraint in gin consumption but who always looked forward to a 6 'O Clock tipple), Michael Kain carefully selects and balances Juniper with six other botanicals. Orange Peel adds a citrus in delightful harmony with floral Elderflower. The company has a ‘ginspirational’ sideline in the form of a tonic is made with natural quinine (not synthetic) and containing no artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
Tasting note: Crystal clear with a silvery blush. Baked citrus and tumeric. A hint of thyme then the juniper comes to the fore with citrus peel adding freshness. The palate unfolds slowly. Soft and light at first, building with exceptional length towards a concentrated juniper / dried herb surge that reverberates in the mouth. Warming, peppery mouthfeel. Concludes long, dry and warming with juniper, dried herb, peppermint and spice aftertaste showing excellent persistence. An auspicious new release. 43% Alc./ Vol.
Other reviews... Delightful variation on a theme. The traditional characters are there but some fresh citrus and lovely notes of elderflower. Amazingly powerful in the mouth with great depth of flavour. Super and full floral backing. Fresh yet soothing. Full flavoured but beautifully balanced. Long and full flavoured finish where the floral notes are strongly evident.

Breucklelen Distilling Glorious Gin (700ml)Brooklyn, New York, UNITED STATESReduced from $125.00$99. 99Bottle$1199.88 DozenABV: 45%Breuckelen Distilling began crafting gin and whiskey during the summer of 2010, producing spirits entirely from scratch under one roof in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. A complete hands on approach sees them mill, mash, ferment, distill, mature, fill, and even label each and every bottle. They have a commitment to use only New York grown grains, and won’t buy bulk distilled spirits and sell them as their own. It's a commitment that means availability will always be unpredictable.
'Glorious Gin' is distilled from wheat grown in upstate New York. The base spirit is then redistilled in the presence of juniper, lemon, rosemary, ginger, and grapefruit.

Brokers 47% London Dry Gin (700ml)Birmingham, London, UNITED KINGDOM$69. 99Bottle$839.88 DozenABV: 47%Broker's Gin was created by Martin and Andy Dawson, two English brothers who saw an opportunity for a new premium brand, and combined seriously good gin with an element of English humour. This light-hearted approach has proved successful and today Brokers is not only distributed all over the world, but has become the gin of choice at No.10 Downing Street and the London Stock Exchange. (The special bottle design with the familiar bowler hat is worn in honour of London stockbrokers, and led to the companies tag line, “Don't Forget Your Hat!”)
The distillery is located near Birmingham, England and is over 200 years old with an underground spring beneath the building providing a source of soft, pure water. There had previously been a brewery on the site, but this was converted to a distillery at a time when gin-making became more profitable than beer-making. Broker's use only traditional pot stills manufactured by John Dore & Co, (recognised as the finest still-maker in the world), rather than column stills. Pot stills better extract maximum flavour from the botanicals. The base for Broker's Gin is triple-distilled pure grain spirit made from English wheat. Flavour is provided by ten natural botanicals, the primary one of which is juniper berries. Other dried botanicals including Coriander seed, Orris root Nutmeg, Cassia bark, Cinnamon, Liquorice, Orange peel, Lemon peel and Angelica root are sourced from all over the world and shipped to the distillery in sacks. The botanicals are steeped (soaked ) in the base spirit in the still for 24 hours. This is the first part of the flavour-infusion process. The still is then fired up for the final, fourth distillation, completing the process.
Amongst many other commendations, Broker’s Gin received a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2005 and the Platinum Award at the World Beverage Competition in 2006.
Tasting note: Crystal clear. Generous, round and very appealing opening bouquet of lemon sorbet over ripe juniper, hints of pine cone and pencil shavings. More sap like and piney with further air contact; hints of eucalyptus alternate with fresh citrus zest. A great gin sniff. Super clean, wonderfully controlled delivery shows exceptional softness and poise, with a supple, juniper, lemon and herb profile and a pepper accented fade showing solid length. Finish is fresh, zesty, citrussy and moreish. Outstanding. 47% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews...Scents of lemon zest, coriander and orris root. In the mouth, it has the proper level of alcohol for gin, 94 proof; by midpalate, the firmly focused flavor profile features lemon zest and coriander, all buttressed by a buttery, creamy texture. Unusual new-make profile is hardly definitive as gin with subdued scents of ryvita biscuit, sour dough and white pepper; virtually zero botanicals detected. Significant exposure draws out lemon peel and muted piney juniper. Dryish, moderately peppery mid palate finds the rye base to the fore with botanicals in retreat; Finish is more typically ginny with a liquorice root, light juniper and pepper burst. Concludes crisp, vibrant and long. Atypical yet appealing. 46% Alc./Vol. Other reviews... Clear color. Attractive, fruity, spicy aromas and flavors of fresh baked fruitcake, gingerbread, dried pear, and candied violets with a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a licorice, brown spices, honeyed raisin rye-safflower toast, and floral honey finish. A rich, flavor packed gin for craft cocktails.

Citadelle Original Gin (700ml)FRANCE$89. 99Bottle$1079.88 DozenABV: 44%Triple distilled from wheat, Citadelle Gin includes 19 botanicals: “coriander from Morocco; orange peel from Mexico; cardamom and nutmeg from India; liquorice from China; cubeb pepper from Java; juniper, savoury, violet and star anise from France; fennel from the Mediterranean; iris from Italy; cinnamon from Sri Lanka; almonds and lemon rind from Spain; cassia from Indochina; angelica from Germany; grains of paradise from West Africa; and cumin from Holland.” Technically, Citadelle is classified as a London Dry gin, however, the method of production is unusual with its use of the Charentais pot still, (a form of still made popular in the 16th century for the production of Cognac, which utilizes a naked flame as opposed to team for its heat source).

International Review of Spirits Award: Silver Medal - 89 points (Highly Recommended) - tastings.com...The first nosing passes find scents of fresh flowers, jasmine, honeysuckle, and cardamom; further aeration stimulates deeper, more herbal notes including anise, grains of paradise, and cinnamon. At the palate entry, the off-dry juniper presence is clearly evident; at midpalate the taste profile turns creamy, rich, and flowery once again. Ends up off-dry, high on juniper essence, and elegant. 96-100: Classic/Highest Recommendation - wineenthusiast.com
- Citadelle Wild Blossom Extremes No. 2 Gin (700ml)FRANCE$100. 00Bottle$1200.00 DozenABV: 42.6%The first of the Citadelle Extrêmes was launched in 2016 (Old Tom No Mistake). Its success encouraged Alexandre Gabriel to continue the series with this 2017 release - "Wild Blossom" gin. Employing the same base as the original Citadelle, this offers an even more floral profile with a new infusion of wild cherry blossom petals and a total of twenty botanicals including iris, cubeb, violets, grains of paradise and nutmeg. Its character is accentuated by a five month ageing process in sweet cherry wood barrels, a species of wood characterized by red fruits and fresh hazelnut. Notes from the producer: Color : Pale gold. Nose : Fresh and very fruity. Prominent juniper berry blending with almond, cherry and grapefruit. A floral note evolves with jasmine and ylang-ylang, followed by musky and smoky notes. Palate : Rich, opulent, with a sweet and sour profile of preserved lemon rind, green grape and cubeb pepper. It evolves into cocoa with very precise notes of violet and rose. Finish : Very long cumin note, evolving into cherry and grenadine. 42.6%

Citadelle Reserve Gin (700ml)FRANCE$119. 99Bottle$1439.88 DozenABV: 44%Tasting note: Aged in Cognac barrels for six months, this pale yellow hued gin has a strong juniper focus on the nose, complexed with assorted citrus peel, lemon butter, coriander seed and herbaceous / vegetative notes. Super pure, silky mouth feel carries through with semi sweet citrus peel and spicy green vegetable/ capsicum like flavours. Persistent, subtle aftertaste of citrus, cream and boiled confectionary. Idiosyncratic. 44% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews...The nosing passes find intensely herbal and cedar needle notes with more subtle aromas of citrus, orange peel and stone arriving after aeration time. Palate entry is the first time the oak influence appears as sweet tastes of vanilla and butter dominate; midpalate similarly features more of the wood than the botanicals. Finishes as much a brandy as a gin. - 90-95: Superb/Highly Recommended - www.wineenthusiast.com

Cold River Traditional Gin (750ml)UNITED STATES$125. 00Bottle$1500.00 DozenABV: 47%First released in 2010 by Maine Distilleries in Fryeburg, Maine, North America. Made using a potato base spirit, triple-distilled in a copper pot still and diluted with water from the nearby Cold River. Botanicals include juniper, coriander, lemon and orange peel, cardamom, angelica root and orris root. Other reviews... On tasting Cold River Gin, it kicks-off with an assertive strong juniper hit, complemented by coriander and citrus notes titillating behind. Rooty and cardamon laden spice also plays it’s role to bring the gin to a peppery finish, all of which playing around on what feel like a creamy base. It’s a more traditional London gin than new American style but it manages to be both unique and captivating. One for those who like “ginny” gins for sure. 47% Alc./Vol. - www.ginfoundry.com -

Colombo No.7 Dry Gin (700ml)UNITED KINGDOM$84. 99Bottle$1019.88 DozenABV: 43.1%Based on a 70-year-old-recipe that took Tanqueray No.7 as its inspiration, Colombo No.7 was conceived at a time when many traditional botanicals were difficult to procure due to trade blockades during World War II. Alternatives were found in locally grown cinnamon, ginger and curry leaf. On working on the recreation of the original recipe, the grandson of the founder, Amal de Silva Wijeyeratne commented: “We did try to see if we could enhance it and tried adding other botanicals and spices. We tried lemon grass, turmeric, cardamom etc., but somehow we always found that more spices didn’t necessarily make it better and seemed to take it out of balance." He adds, "My grandfather was always a perfectionist, and Colombo No.7 was already perfect. We didn’t change a thing, and in about two months the gin was ready.”
The gin is presently distilled and bottled in England using a 100% grain spirit base. Tasting note: Powerful aromas of pine needle, curry leaf and citrus peel with air contact releasing more of the former. A pure, relaxed delivery with attractive tangy citrus, restrained juniper, white pepper, and a medium long dried herbal finish with trace curry leaf heat in the aftertaste. London dry inspired with a nicely harmonised flavour range. 43.1% Alc./Vol. Other reviews… Colombo No.7 has landed at a funny time in our gin drinking history; when it was first made 70 years ago it would have been unimaginably alien with its citrus absence and curry leaf presence, but tasted next to gins created in the last couple of years it almost cries of tradition. Juniper leads the way to taste, with liquorice and angelica lending an earthy, almost dusty sweetness and a soft mouth. Cinnamon sings loud and bright, though doesn’t whip at the tongue in a typically barbarous manner, instead conspiring with the ginger and curry leaf to bring a fragrant warmth and depth. Coriander seed rounds out the flavour, bringing a hint of citrus and nuts and prolonging the finish. - http://www.ginfoundry.com …Having read the list of botanicals, I was expecting something a bit weird tasting, and possibly over spiced. I am not a fan of cinnamon either. So It was a relief to discover that Colombo No. 7 is a properly balanced gin. Juniper and citrus aromas and flavours abound, followed by subtle cinnamon. The finish has great white pepper notes. In case you were wondering it doesn’t taste of curry! Pretty much a perfect G&T, crisp with juniper and citrus with the curry leaves coming through on the finish. I used their suggested garnish of curry leaves which was delicious, but there are plenty of other garnishes that could work well like ginger, lime or mango… - theginqueen.com Silver medal – San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016 -

Copperhead The Alchemist's Gibson Edition Gin (500ml)BELGIUM$99. 99Bottle$1199.88 DozenABV: 40%Copperhead's 'Gibson Edition' is a collaborative effort between the Copperhead Gin team in Belgium and renowned bartender Marian Beke (from the Gibson Bar in London). Beke added thirteen new botanicals to the Copperhead Gin base, including allspice, bay leaf, cassia, dill seeds, fennel, ginger, mace and pepper. Eight-year-old jenever was then mixed in as a sweetener (Beke wanted to avoid Old Tom territory by using sugar). The result contributes a pickled twist to cocktails or can be enjoyed with premium tonic water. “As a profile, it’s very specific, it’s very complex, but it’s also very enjoyable,” says brand ambassador, Lennert Van der Cruyssen. He recommends adding a pickled garnish to finish it off.

Cream Gin (700ml)London, UNITED KINGDOM$125. 00Bottle$1500.00 DozenABV: 43.8%Back in the Victorian era publicans would serve spirits such as Gin out of a barrel on the back bar. The quality of the spirits served varied considerably and categories such as Old Tom emerged out of the need to smooth rough edges through vatting and sweetening. Cream Gin was the extreme expression of these early balancing acts, and was in high fashion, as can be seen in many depictions of Victorian life, but the origins and early compositions of the drink are unclear as the category did not survive en masse. Was it an actual addition of sugar and cream or simply a higher level of sugar as can still be found in “Crème de Fruit” or Gin “liqueurs”? No one knows for sure. Each and every interpretation would have probably been quite different from one drinking haunt to another.
Whatever the nature of these Victorian brews, this history aroused the talented crew of mixologists from the Whistling Shop on Worship Street in London, who set out to create a modern interpretation of Cream Gin. Using all the paraphernalia of the modern barman, they have crafted a contemporary (and historically paradoxical) London Dry Gin. In this updated context “Cream” refers to the use of dairy as another botanical included in the initial maceration, that will later be vacuum distilled, rather than post blending with the Gin. Besides this utterly original element, other botanicals include juniper, lemon, orange, cassia root, liquorice, coriander, cinnamon and orris root in a wheat based spirit.
The result is a clear Gin which according to its creators offers another layer of flavour to the traditional Juniper styles, with vanilla and dairy notes, as well as a luscious mouthfeel.
Tasting note: Crystal clear showing considerable legs. A perfect integration of lemon peel, white pepper, orris root, coriander, light juniper and mild herbal / earthy / mineral notes. Follows through in a lively, creamy textured gin with layered juniper, lemon lozenge, pepper heat, subtle earthy/herbal notes and a crisp, keenly balanced finish. Mild lactic character in the aftertaste, but the dairy contribution is not obvious. 43.8% Alc./Vol. -

Damrak Gin (700ml)Amsterdam, SWEDEN$69. 99Bottle$839.88 DozenABV: 41.8%In the 17th century the Damrak harbor became an important mooring place for merchant ships arriving from and departing to exotic ports across the globe. The Damrak was the main artery through which products and spices were taken to the heart of Amsterdam; including sweet oranges and juniper berries.
With this heritage in mind, Lucas Bols developed a high quality gin in addition to the current range of liqueurs and genevers. With a subdued juniper flavour, sixteen other botanicals such as orange, citrus, honeysuckle and an array of spicy and sweet herbs, combine to create the final flavour profile.
Other reviews... Clear. Aromas and flavors of sesame seed bread crust, orange dreamsicle, and faint dried herbs with a soft, fruity-yet-dry medium body and a creamy, dried pinecone, mineral nuanced finish. More of an orange flavored genever and somewhat lacking in juniper character, but quite tasty.

We're serious about gin.
Distilleries both small and large from every continent on earth can now lay claim to a Gin. You could be cynical and suggest it's merely to maintain cash flow while more 'serious' barrel aged spirits mature. Gin is easy and cheap. After all, it's just flavoured vodka at the end of the day, right? That line of thinking misrepresents all this spirit can be in the hands of visionaries and fanatics. The freshest botanicals in high quality alcohol result in an exotic amalgam of accents and supporting notes that no white spirit can match. Perfumed complexity and bracing intensity are not the characteristics of every gin we taste - hence, it can't be that easy to achieve. From Navy Strength to organic to sloe gin, browse our range today. A long departure from the once "fuddy-duddy" association of the genre, Vickers, Gordon's and other ubiquitous brands are threatened to be swallowed in a giant yawn by the progressive, quality-savvy new-gin devotee. Trending classifications such as 'New Western' style (juniper evident but not dominant) are gaining prominence as are the use of indigenous botanicals and varied spirit bases, including non-grain. Barrel ageing is also gaining momentum. The vast improvement in quality has resulted in texture rich, neat/sipping friendly spirits. Yet, the traditional English and Dutch styles remain more relevant than ever in honouring the cocktail classics. Learn more today...
