A twist on the classic London Dry style, Broken Heart Gin is produced in Queenstown, New Zealand, containing eleven botanicals, steeped in a spirit base of molasses and wheat and then re-distilled. Botanicals include Juniper, coriander, lemon peel, lavender, Angelica, Pimento, Hops and Malt.
Tasting note: Crystal clear. Nice lift to the bouquet with initial juniper and dried citrus peel. Second pass drops a notch intensity wise but adds muted black pepper and coriander seed to the aromatic mix. Medium dry, light to middle weighted profile is delicately peppery, dried juniper-like with citrus peel adding freshness. Easy drinking and well integrated. 40% Alc./Vol.Silver medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London in 2013.
