A more floral and more citrus-infused nose speaks of cool and admirably pure aromas of iodine, ocean breeze and green apple along with a hint of the exotic. The rich and solidly concentrated medium-weight flavors also possess excellent length on the bright, clean and very dry finish. This chiseled and promising effort should amply repay 7 to 10 years of cellaring. Drink through 2029+.

The 2021 Chablis Village is a clear step up from the Petit Chablis, beautifully defined with light pressed flower scents that complement the granite scents. The palate is saline on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, fine depth with quite a persistent finish. Elegant and somehow, understated. Drink 2024-2034.

Daivissat's Chablis parcel comes from two parcels - the smaller near Beine (0.6ha) and the much larger plot adjacent to Premier Cru Foret (2.5ha). Profound, concentrated, prominent lime/lemon zest on the palate, a touch of honey, confited citrus zest to finish. So long. A profound Chablis. Drink 2023-2027.

I knew that this would be too young, and it is, but I was curious anyway. A ripe but nicely fresh fresh nose flashes reasonably good Chablis character on the white-fleshed fruit and floral nose. The sleek, delicious and vibrant medium weight flavors exude evident minerality on the clean, dry and balanced finale where a touch of bitter lemon character slowly emerges. This is clearly still on the way up but it's not so far away that it couldn't be enjoyed now, provided that it's served slightly cooler than usual. Try from 2025+.

The 2018 Chablis is showing very well, offering up a pretty bouquet of citrus oil, crisp orchard fruit, oatmeal and beeswax. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and charming, built around ripe but lively acids and concluding with a delicately saline finish. Unusually youthfully charming and open-knit for a Dauvissat Chablis, while remaining very true to the appellation and the domaine's style, this will drink well comparatively young. Drink 2022-2038.

The 2018 Chablis Village has a forward nose with hints of white chocolate and nougat emerging with time. The palate is well balanced and lightly honeyed on the entry, tinged with spice, crème caramel and orange pith. Approachable in style and drinkable now, although it should give several years of drinking pleasure. Drink 2020-2026.

Clear pale colour, beautifully perfumed. This is completely enthralling. Evidently ripe, but the wine feels completely balanced. There is a lovely wealth of fruit on the palate with super balance, delicious sucrosity and a long fine finish.

A classic Chablis nose features notes of oyster shell, iodine and mineral reduction on the ripe but fresh white aromas of passion fruit and pear where a background whiff of phenolic character is discernible. The rich yet racy saliva-inducing medium weight flavors possess equally good length and balance. This firm effort will also need to add depth over the next 6 to 8 years. Drink from 2026+.

The 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons is one of the more expressive wines in the range at this early stage, wafting from the glass with notes of lime zest, crisp stone fruit, freshly baked bread and subtle hints of nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, it's a lively, penetrating wine that will offer a broad drinking window. The Vaillons comes from holdings where the soils are deeper than in Séchet, and that shows in greater textural plentitude. Drink 2023 - 2049.

The 2019 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a very fragrant bouquet with yellow flowers flanking the sensual citrus and orange peel scents. Very harmonious. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed texture on the entry. A fine bitter edge counters the richness that defines the finish. A slightly more opulent style from Dauvissat... but still Chablis. Drink 2023-2038.

Pale lemon. A leaner stricter nose after the comparative opulence of Sécher. Then gorgeous ripe lemon zest, flavours, which fill the mouth then refine to a clean pure long finish. Deep limestone marls here retained enough humidity. Very long, very classic, great wine.

A less elegant but more complex nose reflects plenty of Chablis typicity with its nose of spiced apple, sea breeze, tidal pool, ripe citrus and a touch of the exotic. There is excellent volume to the intense and muscular flavors that brim with both dry extract and minerality before concluding in a bitter lemon and anise-suffused finish that offers just a bit more depth. Like the Montée de Tonnerre, this very powerful effort should be capable of rewarding up to a decade of cellaring. Drink from 2029+.

The 2019 Chablis 1er Cru La Forest is the deepest and most complete of Dauvissat's premiers crus, delivering a complex bouquet of orange oil, pear and fresh bread complemented by top notes of iodine, dried white flowers and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's layered and concentrated, with superb mid-palate volume, lively acids and a long, electric finish. Drink 2027 - 2055.

The 2019 Chablis Forêts 1er Cru has one of the most marine-influenced aromatics from Dauvissat, well-defined sea spray and oyster shell notes emerging with time. The palate is beautifully focused and powerful, offering dried honey and light spice notes, and gradually building toward the stem-ginger-tinged finish. Excellent. Drink 2024-2040.

Domaine Auvigue faces the majestic Rock of Solutré, in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation and the Auvigue family have been making wine there since 1946. The grapes for this wine come from family estates covering 6 hectares, including 2ha that have been organically farmed for over 20 years, in the Mâcon-Solutré and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations. The wine is aged on lees for 6 months to promote complexity and texture.

Apple, lime and almond inform the nose and silken palate of this brightly refreshing bottling that, at 17 grams of residual sugar, exhibits the sort of hidden sweetness that proves especially efficacious when pairing with diverse cuisine. The slate-lined finish is animatingly as well as refreshingly sustained. (The registration number has been noted so as to distinguish this bottling from an eponymous liter bottling.) The 2017er Saar Riesling (as it is indicated on the consumer label) comes from the Wiltinger Klosterberg, Krettnacher Euchariusberg and Oberemmeler Karlsberg, and was fermented down to barely off-dry levels (17 g/l of residual sugar). This offers a beautifully racy and comparatively pure nose of pear, vineyard peach, white flowers, some herbal elements and smoky slate. The wine is beautifully light-footed and playful on the nicely zesty and delicately creamy palate and leaves a nicely fruity and mouthwatering feel in the long and engaging finish. This is a gorgeous off-dry Riesling to enjoy mindlessly over the coming years. Now-2022.

From a picture-book vintage with an inhomogeneous flowering in later June and picked over two weeks between September 24 and October 7th (beautiful sunshine all the time), the Siefersheim 2020 Heerkretz Riesling GG opens with a discreet but deep and substantial, finely mineral or herbal and flinty/reductive bouquet with intensity and sur lies notes as well as those of broken stones. Round, refined and very elegant on the palate, with fine tannins and crystalline, saline acidity, this is a generous but classical Heerkretz of great substance and mouth-tickling grip and acidity. Fruity and non-fruity components are in superb balance here, and the finish is salivating. I wish I had some bottles of this wine in my cellar. Do not pass up buying it if you ever have the chance. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted from magnum in August 2023. Drink 2023 - 2050.

This is so delightful in the nose, but there are so many dimensions to the aromas that it's not easy to grasp this, without sinking into this enormously complex wine. The aromas range from leaves and flowers, dripping after a tropical downpour, to ripe stone fruit, all the shades of citrus zest and delicate spice Tightly wound on the very concentrated, silky palate with minerality that's almost off the scale. So saline and so mouthwatering at the super-long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Walnut Block mark a pleasing departure from industrial New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The vines are trellised on the Scott-Henry canopy system, which allows maximum light and exposure. The grapes are all hand picked and grown to a yield of 3.5 tonnes per acre. Fruit is first gently whole bunch pressed and predominantly fermented in stainless steel with cultured yeast. A portion is fermented with wild yeasts in old French Barriques, which contributes additional layers of complexity.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with some greenish highlights around the edges and a watery hue. Pungent aromas of gooseberries intermixed with grassy herbaceous characters and a touch of passionfruit are followed by some lightly spiced asparagus and citrusy mineral end notes. Fresh, concentrated flavours of ripe gooseberries, a dash of passionfruit, herbaceous grassy characters and citrusy asparagus fill the mouth within a well rounded textural feel finishing with crisp, zingy acidity. Long gooseberry, citrusy passionfruit, herbaceous grassy characters and asparagus aftertaste. Certified Organic.

The perfect introduction to the gruner veltliner grape! Brimming with lime, yellow grapefruit, herbs and fresh cucumber, this is an extremely expressive and very friendly dry white. Lovely balance of on the finely etched, medium-bodied palate with elegant acidity underlining the wide spectrum of flavors. Invigorating, long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Clean, fresh, vibrant and bright expression here. All white flesh stone fruit, citrus, floral things. Palate is cut and chalky, tense and true, long and fine with a powdery fan of fresh acidity to close. It’s an acid hound’s style here, so let the air flow through your hair as you sip. Drink 2019-2023.
