Catz Dry Gin (700ml)NETHERLANDS$120. 00Bottle$1440.00 DozenABV: 48.2%An old Dutch brand that was resurrected in 2016, this beautifully presented gin was distilled and developed in collaboration with Herman Jansen from “Schiedam”, one of the oldest family-owned distilleries in the Netherlands with over 200 years experience. Produced using small copper pot stills, fresh citrus and a blend of “special botanicals” (bergamot peel, juniper berries, cinnamon and cayenne peppers) and bottled at the warming strength of 48.2% ABV, which means the gin will shine through heavy mixing. Tasting note: Intriguing, floral-soft aromas of lemon gelato, citrus blossom, juniper and a cinnamon-pepper zing. Exceptional texture and balance with flavours of lemon meringue, fresh piney juniper, and a creamy-yet-dry, gently warming finish showing serious length. Quite distinctive. - Citadelle Wild Blossom Extremes No. 2 Gin (700ml)FRANCE$100. 00Bottle$1200.00 DozenABV: 42.6%The first of the Citadelle Extrêmes was launched in 2016 (Old Tom No Mistake). Its success encouraged Alexandre Gabriel to continue the series with this 2017 release - "Wild Blossom" gin. Employing the same base as the original Citadelle, this offers an even more floral profile with a new infusion of wild cherry blossom petals and a total of twenty botanicals including iris, cubeb, violets, grains of paradise and nutmeg. Its character is accentuated by a five month ageing process in sweet cherry wood barrels, a species of wood characterized by red fruits and fresh hazelnut. Notes from the producer: Color : Pale gold. Nose : Fresh and very fruity. Prominent juniper berry blending with almond, cherry and grapefruit. A floral note evolves with jasmine and ylang-ylang, followed by musky and smoky notes. Palate : Rich, opulent, with a sweet and sour profile of preserved lemon rind, green grape and cubeb pepper. It evolves into cocoa with very precise notes of violet and rose. Finish : Very long cumin note, evolving into cherry and grenadine. 42.6%

Citadelle Reserve Gin (700ml)FRANCE$119. 99Bottle$1439.88 DozenABV: 44%Tasting note: Aged in Cognac barrels for six months, this pale yellow hued gin has a strong juniper focus on the nose, complexed with assorted citrus peel, lemon butter, coriander seed and herbaceous / vegetative notes. Super pure, silky mouth feel carries through with semi sweet citrus peel and spicy green vegetable/ capsicum like flavours. Persistent, subtle aftertaste of citrus, cream and boiled confectionary. Idiosyncratic. 44% Alc./Vol.
Other reviews...The nosing passes find intensely herbal and cedar needle notes with more subtle aromas of citrus, orange peel and stone arriving after aeration time. Palate entry is the first time the oak influence appears as sweet tastes of vanilla and butter dominate; midpalate similarly features more of the wood than the botanicals. Finishes as much a brandy as a gin. - 90-95: Superb/Highly Recommended - www.wineenthusiast.com

Made using a potato base spirit, triple-distilled in a copper pot still and diluted with water from the nearby Cold River. Botanicals include juniper, coriander, lemon and orange peel, cardamom, angelica root and orris root. Other reviews... On tasting Cold River Gin, it kicks-off with an assertive strong juniper hit, complemented by coriander and citrus notes titillating behind. Copperhead The Alchemist's Gibson Edition Gin (500ml)BELGIUM$99. 99Bottle$1199.88 DozenABV: 40%Copperhead's 'Gibson Edition' is a collaborative effort between the Copperhead Gin team in Belgium and renowned bartender Marian Beke (from the Gibson Bar in London). Beke added thirteen new botanicals to the Copperhead Gin base, including allspice, bay leaf, cassia, dill seeds, fennel, ginger, mace and pepper. Eight-year-old jenever was then mixed in as a sweetener (Beke wanted to avoid Old Tom territory by using sugar). The result contributes a pickled twist to cocktails or can be enjoyed with premium tonic water. “As a profile, it’s very specific, it’s very complex, but it’s also very enjoyable,” says brand ambassador, Lennert Van der Cruyssen. He recommends adding a pickled garnish to finish it off.

Cream Gin (700ml)London, UNITED KINGDOM$125. 00Bottle$1500.00 DozenABV: 43.8%Back in the Victorian era publicans would serve spirits such as Gin out of a barrel on the back bar. The quality of the spirits served varied considerably and categories such as Old Tom emerged out of the need to smooth rough edges through vatting and sweetening. Cream Gin was the extreme expression of these early balancing acts, and was in high fashion, as can be seen in many depictions of Victorian life, but the origins and early compositions of the drink are unclear as the category did not survive en masse. Was it an actual addition of sugar and cream or simply a higher level of sugar as can still be found in “Crème de Fruit” or Gin “liqueurs”? No one knows for sure. Each and every interpretation would have probably been quite different from one drinking haunt to another.
Whatever the nature of these Victorian brews, this history aroused the talented crew of mixologists from the Whistling Shop on Worship Street in London, who set out to create a modern interpretation of Cream Gin. Using all the paraphernalia of the modern barman, they have crafted a contemporary (and historically paradoxical) London Dry Gin. In this updated context “Cream” refers to the use of dairy as another botanical included in the initial maceration, that will later be vacuum distilled, rather than post blending with the Gin. Besides this utterly original element, other botanicals include juniper, lemon, orange, cassia root, liquorice, coriander, cinnamon and orris root in a wheat based spirit.
The result is a clear Gin which according to its creators offers another layer of flavour to the traditional Juniper styles, with vanilla and dairy notes, as well as a luscious mouthfeel.
Tasting note: Crystal clear showing considerable legs. A perfect integration of lemon peel, white pepper, orris root, coriander, light juniper and mild herbal / earthy / mineral notes. Follows through in a lively, creamy textured gin with layered juniper, lemon lozenge, pepper heat, subtle earthy/herbal notes and a crisp, keenly balanced finish. Mild lactic character in the aftertaste, but the dairy contribution is not obvious. 43.8% Alc./Vol. -

Damrak Gin (700ml)Amsterdam, SWEDEN$69. 99Bottle$839.88 DozenABV: 41.8%In the 17th century the Damrak harbor became an important mooring place for merchant ships arriving from and departing to exotic ports across the globe. The Damrak was the main artery through which products and spices were taken to the heart of Amsterdam; including sweet oranges and juniper berries.
With this heritage in mind, Lucas Bols developed a high quality gin in addition to the current range of liqueurs and genevers. With a subdued juniper flavour, sixteen other botanicals such as orange, citrus, honeysuckle and an array of spicy and sweet herbs, combine to create the final flavour profile.
Other reviews... Clear. Aromas and flavors of sesame seed bread crust, orange dreamsicle, and faint dried herbs with a soft, fruity-yet-dry medium body and a creamy, dried pinecone, mineral nuanced finish. More of an orange flavored genever and somewhat lacking in juniper character, but quite tasty.

Darnley's View Gin (700ml)Edinburgh, UNITED KINGDOM$79. 99Bottle$959.88 DozenABV: 40%Launched in 2010, Darnley’s View is a creation from the Wemyss Whisky Company in Fife. The name celebrates the moment in 1565 when Mary Queen of Scots spied her future husband, Lord Darnley, at the family’s home, Wemyss Castle in Fife, Scotland. The producer's note the botanical break down as follows:
"Juniper- In our gin the distinctive pine, lavender camphor-like flavour of the juniper berry is the keynote around which all the other botanicals are built. We select the most aromatic, oil rich berries which grow in Southern Europe. Lemon Peel - Lemon peel dried in the Spanish sunshine adds a fresh crisp bite. Elderflower- Elder trees grow freely on our Scottish estate. The delicate fruity flavours of elderflower are not only a reminder of our Scottish heritage, they also add an extra special floral dimension to our gin. Coriander Seed - Coriander seed from Morocco contributes warm, gingery, sage like flavours and a soft spiciness. Angelica Root - The woody notes of dried angelica root from France helps to make our gin dry. Orris Root - We source our orris from the Benelux countries and its aromatic fragrant notes contribute earthy complex flavours and hints of Parma Violet." Tasting note: Light, fresh and elegant on the nose with understated liquorice notes amid dried juniper and faint citrus peel. A delicate entry leads into a light to medium bodied juniper / coriander and subtle anise profile. Concludes lean, dry and almost neutral like vodka. A well made alternative to robustly styled gins. 40% Alc./Vol. Other reviews... Fresh, delicate fragrance of anise and coriander. Maturing gin in oak barrels is not new, however, using x-whisky barrels hasn't been a common practice. A short spell ageing typically contributes woody and herbaceous notes, in this case the whisky-soaked wood imparts orange and coconut, adding a unique depth to the flavour. The foundation of vanilla rounds out the experience, creating a smooth and harmonious balance. Enjoy neat or over ice to savour its nuanced complexity, or use it to create sophisticated cocktails like an Old Fashioned or Negroni with a whisky twist. It also pairs beautifully with tonic water and an orange twist for an elevated G&T experience. 44% Alc./Vol.
Notes from the producers... Nose: A warm and inviting aroma of sweet whisky intermingles with woody and herbaceous notes, accompanied by hints of vanilla and subtle citrus tones. Palate: Rich and smooth, with layers of orange zest and creamy coconut emerging from the whisky barrel aging. The herbal botanicals add depth, while the touch of vanilla provides a gentle sweetness that balances the woodsy character perfectly. Finish: Long and satisfying, with lingering notes of whisky-soaked oak, soft vanilla, and a hint of citrus, leaving a velvety aftertaste on the palate.

Deaths Door Gin (700ml)Washington Island, Wisconsin, UNITED STATES$99. 99Bottle$1199.88 DozenABV: 47%Washington Island was once known for potato farming. Its “spuds” made their way around the world and were celebrated for their quality and flavour. Then in the early 1970s, vertical integration left Washington Island farmers without contracts. Without customers, they switched to other jobs that were either more tourism-based, or else they moved off the island to find work.
In 2005, a small group of like-minded people began reinvigorating the island's agriculture. Armed with enough seeds & know-how to plant five acres, brothers Tom and Ken Koyen began growing wheat. What started as grain to use as flour at the Washington Island Hotel grew into a select specialty for use in Capital Brewery’s Island Wheat Ale and all of Death’s Door distillery spirits.
This is a classic London Dry style, but with a surprisingly simple botanical mix of organic juniper, coriander and fennel. Like Death's Door vodka, it employs a base of organic Washington Island wheat and organic malted barley from Chilton, Wisconsin.
In case you're wondering, the distillery's peculiar name refers to the body of water between Door County Peninsula and Washington Island. Potowatami and Winnebego tribesmen originally coined the waterway.
Tasting note: [August 2011 bottling tasted] Clear. A lively, pure and compelling amalgam of fresh juniper, fresh sawn pine and citrus zest. Later sniffs find potpourri and pepper combined in a delightful gin bouquet. Light, silky entry builds with juniper, pine sap and anise; medium dry, cream textured and seamlessly integrated with vibrant, controlled peppers. Finish is mildly tart, chalky. Late grainy / cereal notes add complexity. Excellent length. One senses the making of a new-age Gin classic. 47% Alc./Vol. Other reviews...Clear. Aromas of cream of wheat, brown sugar, licorice, and delicate peppery spices follow through on a supple, satiny entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with citrus and peach custard and herbal juniper notes. Finishes with a vibrant anise seed, citrus marmalade on a sweet wheat cracker, and white pepper fade. A smooth, lively gin and will shine in cocktails.

Dingle Gin (700ml)IRELAND$93. 99Bottle$1127.88 DozenABV: 42.5%There are so many awards shows these days but the WGA is one that really matters. Dingle Gin was awarded World’s Best Gin and World’s Best London Dry at the 2019 World Gin Awards.
The explosion of the Irish gin market in recent years has seen the launch of more than fifty brands in Ireland and twenty gin producers, with 12 new brands introduced in 2018. Dingle is leading the pack! Made using a grain spirit base and thirteen locally grown botanicals including rowan berry, juniper, fuschia, bog myrtle, heather, chervil, hawthorn and coriander. These are macerated in the spirit for 24 hours prior to distillation, then boiled with the vapour passing up the still through the 'flavour' basket. On the nose, there's nuances of lavender, pine and citrus blossom, as well as coriander seed and pepper. The style is full flavoured, textural and super fresh with creamy, mouthfilling flavours of orris root, lemon sorbet, ripe juniper, chamomile and peppery / piney / herbaceous notes through the finish. It's a London Dry boasting both power and complexity. 42.5% Alc./Vol.

Dodd's Old Tom Organic Gin (500ml)London, UNITED KINGDOM$79. 99Bottle$959.88 DozenABV: 46%"Old Tom" refers a slightly sweetened gin. For some, it's a style bridging the gap between 'London Dry' gin and aged Genever. However, unlike the majority of Old Toms, Dodd's don't add sugar. Instead, they rely on a high dose of liquorice to impart natural sweetness. Produced from an organic grain base, Dodd's Old Tom foregoes the London honey and red raspberry leaf of the original recipe. Instead, there's fennel seed and lemon peel to support the liquorice sweetness. Tasting note: Interesting and unusual aromas evocative of potpourri, in particular lavender, thyme and light cardamom over lemon verbena and emerging liquorice root. Some earthy / musty / moss-like notes too. Exceptionally pure, with a silky delivery including dried herbs, juniper, lemon gelato and a vibrant coriander-pepper-light liquorice finish. Pine needle and potpourri late in the aftertaste. An intriguing and distinctive assemblage of flavours. 46% Alc./Vol. -

Dodd's Kew Explorer's Strength Organic Gin (700ml)London, UNITED KINGDOM$115. 00Bottle$1380.00 DozenABV: 57.3%The original Kew gin was a collaboration between Dodd's and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
This Explorers' Strength version is Darren Rook's 'navy strength' tribute to the Victorian-era botanists of the Royal Botanic Gardens, those who have scoured the globe to bring back rare botanicals since 1795. Where the Kew Organic highlights a complex, citrusy expression of London gin, the Explorers' Strength takes you on a more robust spice trail featuring cinnamon, nutmeg, cubeb berry and Sichuan pepper. Distilled in Dodd's 140-litre copper alembic, 'Christina', this includes 15 organic botanicals, split between spice and citrus (bergamot, orange, grapefruit and lemon peel), with some botanicals sourced from the gardens itself. Unlike the Kew Organic, a marriage of four separate distillations, Explorers' Strength is distilled in the classic one shot fashion. Tasting note: Clear. Issues a superb bouquet of super-fresh pine needle, herbal tea, orris root and muted citrus. Follows through to a creamy-yet-intense juniper, cool-mint and potpourri attack with blackpepper and exotic spices building towards the finish. Like a gin cough lozenge, this almost melts in your mouth. Seriously good. 57.3% Alc./Vol. -

Dodd's Gin (500ml)London, UNITED KINGDOM$94. 99Bottle$1139.88 DozenABV: 49.9%Dodd's is The London Distillery Company's first gin produced solely in Battersea, London, named after Ralph Dodd, who back in 1807 had planned to build a distillery in London for the creation of local spirits. Like his attempt to build a tunnel under the Thames, the project ultimately collapsed.
The gin itself is made exclusively with organic botanicals, including juniper, angelica, fresh lime peel, cardamom, red raspberry leaf, bay laurel, and honey from The London Honey Company.
At just under 50% Alc./Vol. expect a full bodied, punchy style that might be better matched to tonic rather than on its own.
"TLDC" is also proud to be London's first whisky distillery since Lea Valley closed its doors for the final time over a century ago. We look forward to seeing that!Tasting note: [Batch 158 tasted] Clear, showing noticeable viscosity. Unusual opening scents are fish-oil / baked salmon-like, then vaguely herbal with suggestions of dill? Thyme? Liquorice root? Extra time finds background juniper, dried eucalyptus leaf, balsa wood and coriander. Fresher still with further exposure. A viscous, oily entry; turns gently bittersweet at the mid palate stage with juicy juniper / coriander seed and white pepper. Ends pure, clean with subtle lingering citrus oils. Unfolds in stages. Complex and confident. 49.9% Alc./Vol.

We're serious about gin.
Distilleries both small and large from every continent on earth can now lay claim to a Gin. You could be cynical and suggest it's merely to maintain cash flow while more 'serious' barrel aged spirits mature. Gin is easy and cheap. After all, it's just flavoured vodka at the end of the day, right? That line of thinking misrepresents all this spirit can be in the hands of visionaries and fanatics. The freshest botanicals in high quality alcohol result in an exotic amalgam of accents and supporting notes that no white spirit can match. Perfumed complexity and bracing intensity are not the characteristics of every gin we taste - hence, it can't be that easy to achieve. From Navy Strength to organic to sloe gin, browse our range today. A long departure from the once "fuddy-duddy" association of the genre, Vickers, Gordon's and other ubiquitous brands are threatened to be swallowed in a giant yawn by the progressive, quality-savvy new-gin devotee. Trending classifications such as 'New Western' style (juniper evident but not dominant) are gaining prominence as are the use of indigenous botanicals and varied spirit bases, including non-grain. Barrel ageing is also gaining momentum. The vast improvement in quality has resulted in texture rich, neat/sipping friendly spirits. Yet, the traditional English and Dutch styles remain more relevant than ever in honouring the cocktail classics. Learn more today...
