Dodd's Old Tom Organic Gin (500ml)

"Old Tom" refers a slightly sweetened gin. For some, it's a style bridging the gap between 'London Dry' gin and aged Genever. However, unlike the majority of Old Toms, Dodd's don't add sugar. Instead, they rely on a high dose of liquorice to impart natural sweetness. Produced from an organic grain base, Dodd's Old Tom foregoes the London honey and red raspberry leaf of the original recipe. Instead, there's fennel seed and lemon peel to support the liquorice sweetness.

Tasting note: Interesting and unusual aromas evocative of potpourri, in particular lavender, thyme and light cardamom over lemon verbena and emerging liquorice root. Some earthy / musty / moss-like notes too. Exceptionally pure, with a silky delivery including dried herbs, juniper, lemon gelato and a vibrant coriander-pepper-light liquorice finish. Pine needle and potpourri late in the aftertaste. An intriguing and distinctive assemblage of flavours. 46% Alc./Vol.
