Produced from Cinsaut and Grenache grapes this wine has quite a deep shade of colour for Rose displaying a translucent bright crimson ruby red colour with a watery ruby tinged hue. Aromas of raspberry jubes, pomegranate and cranberries are followed by hints of Turkish delight and confectionary. Fruity flavours of raspberry, pomegranate and musk have a sense of sweetness about them, yet the wine finishes dry and spicy. Bright fresh acidity. Aftertaste of ripe raspberries, pomegranate and spice.
One of the top Rosé in this report is the 2015 Tavel Prima Donna from Domaine Maby. A classic Tavel with its ripe, sexy notes of strawberries, black cherries, flowers and spice, this beauty hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a layered, lively texture and a dry, clean finish. Made from 55% Grenache and 45% Cinsault, buy this beauty by the case.
