    $299.88 Dozen

Glogg means heated wine and is the main traditional Christmas drink in Sweden. For many years, the Swedes have spiced and heated wine during long and cold winters. Recipes vary, however, the Glogg has always been based on certain spices, sugar and wine.

This version is produced according to a recipe from the 1880's and has now become the standard for the real Glogg taste. A hot red wine base is used with ginger, cardoman, clove and other spices; aquavit is added and finally the drink is topped up with almonds and raisins. 10% alc./vol.

'Cuesta' is a brand owned by the prestigious Sherry house, 'Lustau', produced and bottled from a selection of butts in the Lustau Bodega. The concept is to offer high quality sherries under a separate brand in markets where Lustau is already represented. Yet given the exceptional standard set by the Cuesta PX, one has to wonder whether they've shot themselves in the foot. Aged for a minimum of ten years, this superb solera is produced from sun dried Pedro Ximenez grapes.

A seriously good example of PX and an absolute steal at this direct import price.

Pours a viscous sienna brown colour with a deep green olive tinged hue. Potent scents of raisins, honey and Christmas cake engulfs the nostrils with hints of toffee, marmalade and walnut also present. Exceptionally concentrated and rich, a thick luscious dollop of raisin, honey and Christmas cake like flavours are draped across the palate with notions of marmalade, toffee and subtle dried nuts the back drop. Warm, mellow spirit with an oil like consistency to the mouthfeel. Long sweet, textured aftertaste. An ideal match with vanilla ice cream and Christmas pudding.

We have tasted some wonderful example of Pedro Ximenez in our time, but this wine tops the lot. Deep walnut brown colour with deep olive green hue. The viscosity of the wine would appear even greater than motor oil. Superb nose of raisins, raisin cake, plum pudding, honey and toffee. The palate weight is even denser than Lustau’s PX – creating an amazing mouthfeel. There is great concentration of palate flavour – honey and dried raisins over a layer of Christmas pudding, followed by honeyed figs. Wonderfully sweet and luscious, yet with sufficient acidity to avoid cloying. A truly magnificent example of the style.

This Sherry was recently awarded the 'Gran Bacchus Oro' (Great Golden Bacchus).  Only 6 out of the total 1400 wines submitted at the Bacchus 2006 received this prestigous award.  The Bacchus is a key event of the International Organization of Wine and Vine cicuit in Southern Europe, open to all types of wine from around the world.

Deep caramel, onion brown colour with green olive hue. The nose is quite powerful, with lifted rancio and orange rind top notes, followed by an endnote of mixed nuts. The palate flavours are full, but the wine does not have the acid backbone evidenced in the Amontillado. The rancio character is quite dominant on the palate overlaid with hazelnut, toffee and just a touch of sweetness. The flavour profile is a cross between Amontillado and Oloroso. A powerfully long aftertaste of hazelnut and toffee with the rancio flavours persisting.

The Hidalgo is one of the few remaining Spanish Sherry producers. The family’s origins can be traced to the North of Spain, but moved to the South in the 18th Century. In 1792, JOSE PANTALEON HIDALGO acquired a Sherry Bodega in the centre of San Lucar de Barrameda. Six generations later, the company is still owned by the Hidalgo family. Manzanilla is the driest of the Sherries as well as being the lightest.

The terroir of the vineyards that is set between the sea, the river and the marshlands to the North creates a degree of humidity and microclimate that allows the flor yeast to grow on the surface of the maturing wine all year round. Elsewhere in Sherry, the flor yeast character dies off the surface during summer and winter. The climatic situation has curious parallels with the Sauternes region of France.

A refreshing, bone dry sherry, that is a perfect match for prosciutto and fresh seafood. Classic very pale, almost water like colour water like hue. Superb lifted nose of sea spray salt, cashew and flor yeast showing all the characteristics of a top Manzanilla. The palate has excellent length and depth – a wonderful juxtaposition of salt, cashew nut and flor yeast flavours – mouthfilling and refreshingly clean and bone dry. Perfect balance. Exceptionally long salty, flor yeast aftertaste.
A fantastic Summer drink. Enjoy over the festive season.

This unique liqueur wine, possessing the aroma and sweetness of honey, matures in oak wood for an extended period and has a tradition and history behind it. Hesiod, who lived around 735 B.C. described how this wine was made from sun exposed grapes. The island of Cyprus was later a favourite resting ground for Crusades returning from battle and later became a centre for the Knights of the Order of St.John. It was the members of this order who discovered a wine that was been produced in the Troodos Mountains. This wine they named Commanderie after their headquarters, finding it to be not only an excellent drink but also to possess therapeutic properties. Made from the indigenous grape varieties Mavro and Xynesteri, the Commandaria St. Nicholas remains a traditional wine of Cyprus and one of the oldest traded wines in the world.

The distinctive honey sweet flavors of ETKO Commandaria earned it a rating of 88 from Wine Spectator. According to Kim Marcus, columnist for Wine Spectator, the Commandaria is, “rich and sweet, with an amber color. Mouth coating, with cream and Sherry-like aromas and flavors dominated by baked pear, caramel and spice. The finish is full of smoke and orange rind notes.” “Best Value” in the November 30, 2003 issue of Wine Spectator. 15% Alc./Vol.

This wine is made from Muscat a Petit Grain which is grown on limestone-based clay soils in the Beaumes de Venise AOC of the Southern Rhone.
When the grapes reach optimal ripeness they are picked by hand and pressed to tank, where they are allowed to ferment for 21 days. Grape spirit is added to stop the fermentation, fortifying the wine and retaining the natural residual sugar (110g/L). The resultant wine is full-bodied but refreshingly elegant and displays intensely fruity aromas. Pair it with a fruit tart, cheese, or even roast duck.

Dow's are historic producers of long lived, impressively structured Ports, sourced from several exceptional quality vineyards around the Douro. Their house style tends to be drier, more focussed, and aromatic.

Produced from traditional Portuguese varietals and made exclusively from grapes sourced only from the highest classification vineyards. These wines are barrel-aged for at least 10 years in Dow's coastal cellars, concentrating and transforming the wine gradually over time. Despite the extended aging, the wine retains its bright fruit flavours, but gains an impressive amount of complexity.

Dow's are historic producers of long lived, impressively structured Ports, sourced from several exceptional quality vineyards around the Douro. Their house style tends to be drier, more focussed, and aromatic.

Produced from traditional Portuguese varietals and aged in seasoned oak casks for an average of 3 years, while most other producers age their wines in steel tanks, Dow’s goal is to offer the extra complexity that oak can provide. Ruby Port tends to have more youthful fruit flavours, and is therefore ready to be enjoyed straight away, rather than the cellaring that Vintage Ports require.

Tasting note from 1999...1977 for Vintage Port was one of the great vintages in recent memory. Our tasting was the result of a generous gesture from one of our customers to share a part of a bottle with him. Generosity is one of the great qualities of wine lovers. Brick red sienna brown colour, aging gracefully. Superb nose of marzipan and liquorice allsorts. The spirit base contributes to sniffing pleasure, very fine and clean with a lifted hint of prunes. Liquorice allsorts, raisins and toffee superbly welded together in a seamless transition of flavours and enhanced by the velvet texture of the underlying spirit. Perfectly dry finish, followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste. A near perfect wine.

This is an extraordinary house that seems to have been particularly successful with its vintage port since 1977.The 1977, still a baby, is fabulously scented, very rich and concentrated, and has a potential longevity of at least another 30-50 years.

Textbook Manzanilla! Papirusa is a clean, mildly salinic offering with green banana and toast aromas. The palate is just salty enough, but the wine’s more about almond, apple and lemon peel than saline. And the feel and finish are nutty and warm. A full-bodied but refreshing style as only Lustau can do.

Cool temperatures and relatively high humidity ensure the development of flor yeast cells which protect the underlying Palomino base wine. As the flor dies, the wine slowly develops into Amontillado.
Golden tawny, caramel colour with olive green edge. Wonderful nose with aroma of walnut & hazelnut over a background of flor yeast. The palate is drier than the more commercial Amontillado styles with a distinct nut and salt flavour with walnut and almonds being most defined. Excellent depth and concentration of flavours with the saltiness continuing, followed by a strong flor yeast and hazelnut aftertaste.

    Jerez, SPAIN
    $299. 00

    $3588.00 Dozen
    ABV: 22%
    Closure: Cork

Equipo Navazos is perhaps the most significant thing to have happened in the world of Sherry for a very long time. It has some of the most influential people in the fine wine world raving about the quality of these wines, and they are talking about the quality first and the fact that they are Sherries second. These are wines to make Sherry sexy again. They are also as rare as hens’ teeth and are being sought after with the same urgency that wealthy Burgundy collectors seek out the wines of DRC or the greatest Montrachet. This makes sense: these wines are every bit as profound, deep, long and complex as any bottle of DRC (and that is no insult to DRC!)

The Navazos Sherries are drawn from several bodegas, and represent a variety of styles: Manzanilla, Fino, Palo Cortado, Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Cream and even a brandy. The wines are bottled in limited series, in successive numbered editions, dated and named “La Bota de….” (the cask of…). The date of each saca, or racking, has been precisely stated on the label so that it is possible to compare editions of the same solera. This also enables precise tracking of the evolution of the wines, as these wines are expected to evolve in the bottle (it’s Sherry, but not as we know it). These are once off bottlings and once the bottles for each La Bota… release are spoken for, there are no more.

This is an extremely old and powerful sherry that belongs to the same category as the noblest relics of the Sherry world, including Navazos No. 5 “NPI”, No. 14 Oloroso, No. 47 Palo Cortado and No. 49 Amontillado, among others. Just 750 half bottles were filled from a single butt of very old Oloroso raised by Eduardo Ojeda in Jerez. It is a double NO, or ‘cask beyond’, meaning that it contains an even older wine than the respective Bota NO. Not only is the age of this release clearly extreme—something close to 80 or 90 years—this is the first time the solera has been commercially bottled in over 20 years!

    Other Reviews....
The unique NV La Bota de Oloroso Más allá del NO 94 comes from a single butt of extremely old Oloroso from Valdespino. It's a wine that goes beyond the Bota NO concept, because it's an even older wine that has the signs of very old wine, with extreme concentration, evaporation and high alcohol and acidity. Often such wines are too much, and the rarity is to find a wine where you can mention elegance, as they can be aggressive (and sometimes even painful). This has notes of iodine, coconut, varnish and liqueur, finishing dry and long. Not long, eternal... They bottled 75 half bottles produced. Drink 2022 - 2050.

Editions 87, 88 and 89 are spirits, so we jump to the extraordinary NV La Bota de Manzanilla Pasada 90 Capataz Cabo, a wine that comes from a solera filled with wine from Sanlúcar, mostly from the Pago Miraflores, that averages ten years under flor and a further five years topped up. This is a blend of different casks, as it was done in editions 10, 30 and 59. These wines are bottled in 750-milliliter bottles, which is different from the single-cask ones, which are put in half-liter bottles. This is nuttier than the regular Manzanilla and even nuttier than the majority of Manzanilla Pasada, keeping the saline and marine character, hints of iodine and low tide, but also something floral and more ethereal. The palate is super expressive and explosive, pungent and nuanced, with very pure and long-lasting flavors. Really impressive. It should be bottled by the time this report comes out. This is truly impressive and should make a monumental wine. 2,500 bottles to be produced.

Golden colour. Wonderfully intense and honeyed nose but not sweet, the wild grasses of the Fino, a salty intense richness on the nose, sour apricot, a Pandora’s box of aromas that you cannot disentangle sufficiently to describe. The intensity here is quite remarkable but it has not got to the stage where sherry can be almost too intense and too sour. This is smoky, so dry, precise and powerful, almost sweaty on the finish. Utterly saliva-provoking. Stunning length and complexity.

The NV La Bota de Palo Cortado 92 "Pata de Gallina" comes from the same solera as edition 72 (and 34), with wine that averages 35 years of age. It was sourced from the Almacenista Juan García Jarana and matured in the Fernando de Castilla winery. This feels older and has the reductive aromas of matchstick and old church. It seems like the wine has aged a little faster, perhaps in a more oxidative way. It has character and a touch of earthy rusticity, with great concentration, perhaps not as elegant as some of the other wines I tasted next to it. 2,000 half-liter bottles produced.

Mid orangey gold. More apricot and orange here compared with the older Bota NO 79 Cream, almost a touch of vanilla but still the intensity of reduced-down bitter oranges, walnut skins too. On the palate the fruit is more rounded and generous, less severe concentration but still amazing intensity. Packed with sweet/bitter orange and a mouth-filling richness but no lack of freshness. So different from the Bota NO. Seems more youthful, more lively, less demanding, perhaps.

The 2012 Late Bottled Vintage Port is an unfiltered field blend and comes in with 105 grams of residual sugar. It was bottled with a bar-top cork after five years in used French oak. Sexy but elegant, this is chock-full of delicious fruit, sweet on the end and relatively fresh. The mid-palate is just average in depth, but the classic Port flavors are all up front. In its youth, it does have a bit of an exuberant feel despite the freshness. Generally, people don't age LBVs with bar-top corks, but this can hold, if there no cork failure, and develop a bit too. Happily, you can also drink it right now. Drink 2018 - 2025.

Magnificent colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with an equally dense hue. Still a touch reticent the nose slowly opens to reveal alluring liquorice and confectionary scents which meld into a mix of morello cherry, well integrated spirit and spice notes. Rich, luscious morello cherry and liquorice flavours are backed by rugged, muscly tannins which lend firmness and structure for the long haul. Marzipan, infusions of vanilla and spice ensue. It comes in with 98 grams of residual sugar, a little drier on paper than its Taylor sibling this year. Sappy and sensational in flavor and fruit, this seemingly has moderate tannins around the edges on first taste, velvety texture and a long finish. Despite the first impression of moderation, there is plenty of power here. As it got some aeration, it showed nothing but power and closed down fairly hard. The combination of great fruit and fine structure makes this a potentially great Fonseca, but right now it is obviously immature and not showing everything it has. I'd recommend some patience here.

Picking began at Quinta do Panascal on September 6, the two other quintas in Pinhão that form the 2017 Fonseca Vintage Port, Cruzeiro and Santo António picked on 10 and 17 September respectively. One of the deepest, most opaque color amongst the new Port alumni, it has one of the most backward, almost recalcitrant noses that demands a lot of aeration. It gradually opens to reveal blackberry, melted tar, thyme, clove and violet aromas that are well defined, if maybe just missing the same breeding as Taylor’s. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is fresh and detailed, a slightly more structured Fonseca than expected, quite strict at first with good grip and a lightly spiced, precise finish. Powerful and long on the aftertaste, you can feel this Fonseca 60 seconds after the wine has exited. It deserves 10-15 years in bottle. Excellent, but patience required. The most enigmatic of the 2017 Vintage Ports. Total production is 8,100 cases.

Ripe and soft with loads of plummy, smoky and earthy character. Full body. Very sweet. Round and very soft textured. Flavorful finish. Drink in 2025 and onwards.

Dark and dense, with fig bread, baker's chocolate and tar notes leading off before the core flavors of plum, black currant and blackberry paste finally start to emerge. The wild, spirited finish shows cast iron, licorice snap and roasted alder elements, delivering a decidedly chewy feel. A big, old-school, throwback Port that will age at a glacial pace. Best from 2035 through 2060.

The wine's fine perfumed black plum fruits give a wonderful jammy character while bringing out a fresh edge. These are balanced by the dry core of this beautiful wine with its rich, generous tannins. It will all come together from 2030 in a very fine, integrated wine.

Already beautifully integrated, this is showing great purity and poise. It's open and in its first bloom of youth, with lovely aromatic red berry fruit and floral aromas, plus a touch of leafiness. It's soft and fleshy initially, seemingly not as big as its stablemate Taylor's - and not quite so deep in colour - though with dark chocolate concentration and mid-palate firmness. Lovely full, ripe tannins mass in the mouth, well defined, with fresh berry fruit remerging on the broad, expansive finish.

Deepest purple. Wild, perfectly ripe small black berries like elderberry but also the lush sweetness of ripe blackberries plus a stony, rocky edge and just a touch charry. Lush, plush and exotic on the palate, deep-pile, compact, smooth tannins, just enough freshness to balance the rich generosity. The finish is beautifully dry-tasting, the tannins melting on the long finish.

Sporting an opaque, black-colored robe with dark purple trim, the 2003 Fonseca Vintage Port exhibits a nose of profound depth. Its sweet black mass of dark fruit and spice aromas leads to a character of immense depth, richness, and weight. Full-bodied, viscous, and almost impenetrable, this dense, backward port is powerful and exceptionally long in the finish. Possibly the most masculine Fonseca I’ve ever encountered, it coats the taster’s palate with licorice, jammy black fruits, and notes of chocolate that last for over a minute. This blockbuster will require at least three decades to fully blossom. Anticipated maturity: 2035-2060

Bottled in 2013. Outstanding inky black purple colour with very deep black purple hue that stains the sides of the glass. Nosing results in an intense aromatic sniff of liquorice allsorts, morello cherry and blackberry infused with beautifully integrated fine brandy spirit followed by some vanilla, raisins and spice. Thick, luscious and ultra rich flavours of liquorice, blackberries and morello cherries fully encompass every crevasse of the palate followed by some fine old brandy spirit, subtle raisins and spice. The 2016 Graham’s Vintage Port is inky black in colour. The bouquet is voluminous and intense, the aromas almost shrouding your head! Blackberry, black olive, clove and a touch of smoke, just a hint of pencil box in the background. The palate is brilliant, quite brilliant. Supple tannin, a satin-like texture, perfect balance and unerring purity, this is a fabulous Graham’s that effortlessly fans out and caresses the senses on the finish. The 2016 Vintage Port is a blend of 37% Touriga Nacional, 42% Touriga Franca and various others. It comes in with 115 grams of residual sugar. A bit bigger than Dow's this year, this is more intense as well. The better wine of these two benchmarks seems to be this Graham's. Tight on the finish, aromatic and very flavorful, this actually opens rather well and shows off its lovely fruit. The Dow's will be approachable a bit earlier, perhaps, and this may reward aging even more. As always, Graham's is wonderfully delicious. That's one hallmark of the house. I'm not sure this is a truly great Graham's, but at the moment, it is enticing, with plenty of potential for improvement. Drink 2025 - 2070.

This offers a distilled plum and boysenberry essence, with a racy feel, as spearmint and graphite notes drive through. As the finish kicks in, this turns toward the dark side, with ganache, charcoal and tar elements. Has the showy ripeness of the vintage but is backed by a decidedly dry feel on the finish, imparting a sense of precision despite the heft. Best from 2030 through 2055.

All the Symington wines had exceptionally deep colours. This one has a particularly deep blackish-purple, still with a blueish hue. On the already-expressive nose I found prunes, something floral and a note of balsam, plus lots of freshness. Relatively open on the palate too. Rather elegant and the hugely sweet fruit almost covers a massive charge of silky tannins. This is almost like a sweet, tannic table wine. Pure and polished. Sweeter than most. One of those wines that some people might easily persuade themselves could be drunk relatively young, Satin textured. Drink 2040 – 2065.

The 2017 Graham’s Vintage Port was picked from August 28 at Malvedos, though production is one-third less than the previous year. Here the Touriga Franca was particularly early ripening. It has an expressive nose, a mélange of red and black fruit, fig jam, dates and touches of clove, aromatics that are very seductive if perhaps just missing the intellectual capacity of the Dow’s. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins, a gorgeous Graham’s with hints of espresso and cloves that tincture the multi-layered fruit that veers towards black rather than red towards the finish that fans out without a care in the world. This is perhaps one of the more flamboyant Vintage Ports that is likely to drink earlier than the Dow’s, yet that takes nothing away from what is a beautifully crafted Graham’s. Drink 2030 - 2070.

The 2017 Vintage Port is a blend of 35% Touriga Nacional, 47% Touriga Franca and various others, including a blend from old vines. It comes in with 113 grams of residual sugar. It was bottled about a month before this tasting, but the just-bottled sample was not really ready. This is a pre-bottling sample instead.
One of the more aromatic ports here, this is laced with cistus and eucalyptus. Lush in texture and concentrated, it was actually showing well at the time of this tasting—notwithstanding some power and pop. The more it aired out, though, the more power it showed. Even so, this remains a rather refined and suave Graham's. I'd call it subtly sexy. It does put on weight with some aeration, though, and there is that muscle underneath, so don't dive in too soon. Lush and inviting, with waves of cassis, melted red licorice, plum preserves and boysenberry reduction coursing through, carried by a velvety structure that lets this flow wonderfully. Flashes of apple wood and tar score the finish, which ends with authoritative cut. This is serious. Best from 2035 through 2055.

Based on Touriga Franca from south-facing slopes at Quinta dos Malvedos, with Touriga Nacional from quintas Vila Velha and Vale de Mealhadas (both predominantly north-facing), topped out with fruit from old vines at Quinta da Tua and 10% Sousão. It's a very deep blue-black colour with an expressive, super-ripe nose of plum, mint and bergamot which springs from the glass. The palate is rich, velvety and voluptuous in typical Graham’s style. The initial richness makes the tannins, which show up on the ripe, broad, mouthwatering finish. Wonderful purity and definition. A real wow of a wine! 3.9 Baumé. Drink 2035 - 2060.

Black core with narrow crimson rim. Glorious fruit intensity of tangy wild berries. Sweet elderberry and hedgerow and a touch of oaky/biscuit spice in the empty glass, dark chocolate. Immense concentration of pure fruit, deep layers of velvet, and yet the fruit is fresh. Fills the mouth with luxury. No dried-fruit flavours this year. Deep shaded crimson. More reticent on the nose than the Dow's Quinta do Bomfim 2010 but there is clearly a lot there. Very sweet start with tannin and liquorice on the palate. This is much less evolved than the Dow's 2010 single quinta port. This will probably reach greater heights but I would ideally age it a bit longer. It starts slow and builds to a nice crescendo, with the acidity emerging to cut the fruit. This elegant wine has a sweet finish to go with its vibrancy and energy. It's a pretty picture overall with caramel, molasses and hints of chocolate on the end, some typical Tawny flavors. Note: This comes with a bar-top cork. Assuming a good cork, it will last indefinitely. Drink 2015 - 2050.

An elegant aged tawny, with plenty of creamy, luscious flavors of butterscotch, crème brûlée, glazed apricot and sandalwood. Offers a silky mouthfeel, with a long, well-spiced finish backed by firm acidity. Drink now.

Peter Symington selected a few barrels of 1972 ports for ageing in seasoned oak casks shortly after the harvest. Having accompanied the maturation of this port in the Gaia lodge, he eventually passed the responsibility on to his son when he retired in 2009. Charles Symington, now head winemaker and taster, selected nine casks for bottling.
Darker than the 1982. Really round, rich and massive. Super-charger. This is a power house! Kerpow! Maybe one of the best 1972s made anywhere in the wine world. Very difficult to spit this, it’s so clean and fresh.

In a port tasting, tasting Graham's is almost like tasting a big, rich, succulent Merlot after a group of blockbuster, tannic Cabernets. Sweeter and more obvious than many ports, the opaque purple-colored 1994 is fruity, powerful, and rich, with an addictive hedonistic quality. It will be ready to drink in 8-10 years and keep for up to 30. As always, this is a showy, flamboyant port that has the advantage of being slightly sweeter than other 1994s. A great Graham's. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2035.

Offers full, rich, complex aromas and flavors reminiscent of sea air and forest undergrowth, caramel and walnuts. Powerful and long, this has substance and a sharpness at the end that's a little astringent. Drink now.

Sercial is the driest style of Madeira and this 10-year-old has vibrant acidity. A rich tawny colour with aromas of fruit cake, nuts, dried orange peel and citrus freshness. An initial figgy richness on the palate gives way to notes of fresh citrus, toasted almonds, walnuts and savoury umami notes. Finishes crisp and dry with a delicious salty tang. This type of Madeira won't improve with bottle age, but an open bottle can keep for several months.

Pale tawny. Edgy, sour marmalade with real refreshment and raciness. Clean as a whistle, and so fresh!

2016 Inniskillin Reserve Vidal Icewine (375ml)
    Niagara Peninsula, CANADA
    $79. 99
    Bottle
    $959.88 Dozen

    Notes sourced from Inniskillin
Early Spring temperatures brought a rapid start to the 2016 growing season. Mid to late Spring saw temperatures cool off, bringing in a great deal of rain. This hampered berry development slightly but the warm summer days followed by cool summer nights more than made up for it. This temperature fluctuation allows sugar to develop during the day, with acidity that develops at night, resulting in whites with excellent fruit flavours and bright acidity. Red wine varietals benefitted from an early growing season as well, which allowed them to ripen on the vine for much longer than a typical harvest. The cooler fall weather helped the grapes retain moisture which resulted in a more subtle fruit profile with supple, smooth tannins.

This unique Canadian product was harvested at the height of Canada’s crisp winter. Naturally frozen on the vine and then picked when the temperature drops to a frigid -10°C. Only a few drops of concentrated nectar can be squeezed from each bunch. The juice is then slowly fermented to achieve a rich, specialty wine know as Icewine.

Tasting Notes:  A mix of honey, beeswax, and dried apricot on the nose with a tantalizing essence of honey and dried apricot on the palate as well. A well rounded mouthfeel with acidity that balances out this naturally sweet dessert wine. Residual Sugar 256 g/l.

The spring 2017 bottling of the NV 3 en Rama Fino de Jerez aged for an average of five years under flor and was bottled unfiltered in April 2017. It's a textbook example of the biological wines aged in Jerez, with aromas of esparto grass, chalk, olives and brine. Super dry with pungent flavors reminiscent of the aromas found on the nose and powerful and round on the palate, it has a bitter finish with a chalky sensation and some salty notes. What I like about this collection is that the three wines show the personality and characteristics of their origin.

With a clear character of El Puerto de Santa María reminiscent of low tide, the Spring 2017 bottling (marked on the front label) of the NV 3 en Rama Fino del Puerto also has notes of almonds, yeasts and a saline, iodine touch. The palate is balanced and dry, sharp after five years under flor.

The NV 3 en Rama Manzanilla de Sanlúcar is a little cloudy with a bright golden color. It has a nose of green apples and almonds that denotes certain youth and a medium Manzanilla without sweetness in the palate. It is overall dry and sharp, with a slight bitter flavor.
