A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. Inky black purple colour showing tremendous depth with a deep dark purple black hue. Inky freshly crushed berry scents combine with liquorice, infusions of fresh herbs, graphite and white pepper. Dense with an inky mouthfeel generous flavours of blackberries, blueberries and liquorice sit over a base of chalky tannins with inky earth, dried herbs and pepper in the background. Finishes dry and grippy with bright youthful acidity and an aftertaste of spicy blackberries, blueberries, liquorice, inky earth, crushed rock, dried herbs and pepper.

The full-bodied 2017 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Lesquerde l'Esquerda is wonderfully lush, welcoming and supple. Loaded with black cherries and crushed stone, this seductive number adds a dusting of cocoa powder on the long, slightly warm finish. Drink 2018-2024.
