While the price/age ratios and 'bang for your buck' from traditional independents have declined over the last decade, new company’s have started up, keen to make headways into markets abroad. Our hope is that these players will draw demand back to independents who were historically at the forefront of truly novel and exciting releases. One such company is Watt Whisky who bottled their first cask for Crowdfunders in April 2020. Kate & Mark Watt are industry veterans and have chosen Campbeltown as their base, not just because of its tremendous whisky heritage but also because it’s their home. The current shipment contains some crackers, but with the Australian market flooded with independents, we’ve being highly selective while dramatically reducing import volumes. It means that some lines may sell out faster than is normally the case.
