SMWS 27.81 Rock salt and Redcurrant Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product pictured.
By all reports this is a cask strength, single cask from Springbank. Anyone with a quick draw will be able to score this at what looks to be a very tempting price.
Other reviews... Its mysterious nose reveals the richness of the most varied aromas: red grape, floral potpourri, mulled wine and blackberries, followed by the scents of spicy meat (haggis, pastrami), bouillon cubes (oxo) and red onion. In the background are leather and gunpowder. Purely our dram reminds of brandy, venison and redcurrant jus and peppered strawberries covered in chocolate. Water develops the smell of rock salt on a shale beach, of shellfish (oysters), smoked bacon and cheese. Now we taste scallops (scallops), grilled octopus and sweet rosé wine; but still salt, ashes and cherry, which reach far into the finish. This Campbeltown distillery won the 2010 Whisky Distiller Award of the Year in the Icons of Whisky.
