Tasting notes: Pale straw gold. Arresting bouquet delights with its poise and purity. Smells of sweet tobacco, apple crumble and spice. More dark chocolate-like as it airs. Final pass finds the accent on stewed pear. Can't fault the delivery which offers a sultry expression of stone fruits, barley and muted dried apricot at the finish. Terrific balance. Momentarily bittersweet as the drying oak competes with the sugars. Lingering, beautiful whisky. 46% Alc./Vol.
