Tennessee whiskey is just that: whiskey distilled and matured in Tennessee. It's essentially Bourbon, however purists will argue it's different due to an additional step in the production process. Before it's put into barrels, the distillate is filtered through maple charcoal, a technique known as the Lincoln County Process, which is claimed to improve the flavour of the spirit. Well known brands include George Dickel and the ubiquitous Jack Daniels.
