One of the more desirable Lark releases in the Rare Cask Series is inspired by the elegance of Japanese Whisky and a very special kind of wood. For those who don't already know, Mizunara oak is one of the rarest in the world. The age-old tree, beautiful in form, grows slowly as both trunk and branches twist and turn. It's scarcer than European and American oak, notoriously expensive, and to top it off, the trees are harvested at around 200 years old (compared to around 75 for American/European oak). For drinkers the obvious question is "Does Mizunara oak give a distinctive flavour to whisky?" The consensus is that it tends to offer a more definite coconut aroma. Other sources suggest the wood contributes attractive sandalwood notes. If you are a collector and a drinker, the great thing about this item is that you can keep your 700ml bottle unopened. It comes with a complimentary 100ml flask to taste and enjoy at your leisure. 845 bottles produced.

Notes from Lark... NOSE: Fresh orange blossom, bright coconut, sandalwood,  lemon, fresh apples, rose and green tea.  PALATE: Bright toasted oak, cherry and apple pie, coconut,  lychee, guava, pear and fresh apples.  FINISH: Long and lingering notes of orchard fruits and custard.
