The Lark Distillery Monty Cask Release Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

Two fresh Amontillado finishing casks, selected from Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley, held layers of brilliant complexity that called for a delicate spirit that wouldn’t overpower. A parcel of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks from Bothwell Distillery, home of Nant Single Malt Whisky, produced the perfect balance of subtle brightness and light vanilla, accentuating the orchard fruit notes and allowing the vibrancy of the Amontillado to shine through. The result is a Summery dram that will transport you to Tasmania’s Huon Valley orchards from the very first sip. Released in late 2020 with an outturn of 300 bottles at 44% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producers... Nose: Fresh apples, apricots and peaches, with a hint of sugar-dipped custard donuts and fresh apple pie drizzled in custard. Palate: Apple strudel with puff pastry and vanilla coat the palate. Honey and more stone fruits mingle with fairy floss and fresh Tasmanian apple juice. Finish: A long, lifted Tasmanian fruit bowl of a finish. Refreshing!
