Springbank Green 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Campbeltown, SCOTLAND
$145. 00
Bottle
$1740.00 Dozen
ABV: 46%
Introduced in the latter half of 2014 and just arrived in Australia is this dram made from organically grown barley. Because Springbank doesn’t have the necessary certificates to release the whisky labelled as organic, it’s called ‘Green’ instead.

Tasting note: Pale straw gold. Almost mezcal like opening sniff combines brine, creamy peat and white pepper. Second pass finds vanilla malt, ginger biscuit and light cocoa. Big mouthfeel in the concentrated salty, peppery delivery that comes across like orange cake infused with sweet peat. Great length. Closes long, spicy, well balanced with peat and cocoa lingering. Deliciously fresh and full styled. Non chill filtered. 46% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... Nose: Some citrus and spice lead the charge of aromas with the soft coastal nose we know and love with Springbank, The arrival of a oat cake and honey note infused with coconut and vanilla pod. Palate: Here comes a real roller-coaster of flavours ranging from light sweet citrus fruits, soft sweet smoke slips in for an appearance before a rich honey and oak note arrives along with breakfast cereal notes. Warming with a little sweet spice to lift the middle palate rather nicely. Finish: Classic Campbeltown with the smoke and very soft sweet peat edges, summer coastal walk with the iodine in the air, banana maybe with the soft fruitiness becoming more evident the longer it's left in the glass. - Cadenheads Whisky Bottlers.
