Sasanokawa distillery is based in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture. The Yamazakura Distillery closed in 1998, after being merged into Sasanokowa. What's in this bottle is Yamazakura whisky aged over 20 years, first in x-Bourbon barrels for 15 years and then tanks and finally back to barrels again to finish up - reportedly in both wine and bourbon casks. Labelled as a Pure Malt, very little information is available regarding this bottling, besides the fact that its contents are now quite rare. 43% Alc./Vol.
