Sansibar Speyside Very Old Selection Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The origins of this remarkable independently bottled single cask remain undisclosed. Some tasters have guessed Glenfarclas or Ardmore. While being a single malt, it offers a depth and flavour profile we've only ever experienced in several 25-30 year old blends.

Tasting note: Amber gold. Smokey weet bix, walnut fudge plus hints of choc-ripple cookie. Later inhalations find traces of lanolin and brine. Crisp, grain-like delivery has a deep undercurrent of earthy, sooty peat. Honey drizzled oatmeal and soft smoke are seamlessly meshed. A chiselled edge to the finish, while citrus freshens the whole. Some venerable depths to fathom. References to extremely old blended whisky are hard to ignore. Impressive. 45.6% Alc./Vol. 485 bottles. Non chill filtered and natural colour.
