Tasting note: With some extra age, this is where Port Askaig gets interesting: More depth and layering to the nose that includes scents of rock pools, lanolin, peppermint and wasabi through the vanilla soaked malt. Here the balance is spot on, with an oily, rich and perfectly rounded delivery. Smoked poached pears, brine and a minerally, spicy finish, but falls short in the aftertaste. 50.4% Alc./Vol.
