Tasting note: A blend of peated whisky from 1997 (20%) and fruitier spirit from 2001 (80%), both matured in first-fill oloroso-sherry casks. Significantly deeper in colour than the rest of the range, this is also shyer on the nose; Trace spearmint, then a little chocolate and white pepper, but it's as if the sherry has cancelled out the peat. In the mouth, early flavours of cream tea biscuits give way to a lively burst of spice, faint citrus zest and smokey vanilla. Finishes medium long. 45.8% Alc./Vol.
