Old Fitzgerald 14 Year Old Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

Distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2018, this is one of ten in Heaven Hill’s Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond series. These bi-annual releases are differentiated by the colour of the labels and arrive with varying age statements. VVS denotes "Very Very Special" and these releases are chosen by the Master Distiller from barrels identified as outstanding, even beyond the already-collectible Spring and Fall decanter series. VVS releases are not released every year. Each handsome antique replica decanter comes with an old style 'tax strip' that discloses when the bourbon was produced and bottled.

They also come labelled 'Bottled in Bond' - hence, they must be aged for over four years instead of just three, thus meeting the standards of the 'Bottled in Bond Act of 1897.' The act also requires that the whiskey be a product of the grain of a single season, made by one distiller at a single distillery, and aged in a federal government-bonded warehouse. The act came as a response to the widespread adulteration in American whiskey around the late 19th century.
