North Star Chaos Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The second Chaos limited edition was distilled on Islay and matured in Spanish and American oak casks. Batch 2 is a limited run of 1500 bottles. Australian allocations are well down on previous years.

Tasting note: [Batch #1, 20ml sample] A blend of two 2010 vintage Pedro Ximénez casks married with a single 2009 American oak hogshead. Reports have it there's nothing younger than ten years old in the mix. The aroma accents smoked meats with air time adding hints of menthol, citrus, lanolin and white pepper. Typically flavoursome Islay; Sweet sherry input has softened the maritime vibrancy, but the final rush of oily peat-reek leaves Caol Ila's trademark character. 50% Alc./Vol.
