The Nikka Grand Age “Art of Blend” emerged in the early 2000s as a super-premium blended whisky designed to showcase Nikka’s blending expertise and rich Scottish-inspired heritage. Drawing on malt whiskies from its Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, and matured predominantly in sherry casks, this rare expression was blended with grain whisky to create a complex, oak-rich expression featuring deep, dried fruit and spice notes. Bottled at 45% in a distinctive decanter and wooden box, it reflects Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru’s passion for meticulous craftsmanship and his training in Scotland, and was produced in limited quantities before being quietly discontinued. 45% Alc./Vol.
