Mortlach Rare Old slots into the distillery’s portfolio as a richer, more relaxed expression compared with the muscular intensity of standard bottlings such as Mortlach 12 Year Old, dialling back the “beast of Dufftown” edge while still showing its signature meaty depth and dried‑fruit weight. In the glass, it drinks smoother and more approachable. With honeyed malt and gentle spice that make it an excellent introduction to Mortlach for newcomers, without losing the complexity that regular fans expect.
