Kilchoman Red Wine Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

New territory for Kilchoman with this release matured for over 5 years exclusively in red wine casks from Portugal's Douro Valley (rather than the standard x Bourbon). The peat is middling to strong with additional hints of ripe plum, pepper, kipper and mezcal. Semi sweet on entry developing with hints of green banana, then more bitter dark chocolate through the oily peat. Delicate lanolin and tobacco through the finish. Concludes peppery, medium long, with lingering earthy peat. 50% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
