Kilchoman 100% Islay 9th Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Peated to 20ppm, the 100% Islay 9th Edition was distilled from Kilchoman's 2007 and 2009 local barley harvests. The barley was hand malted and gently turned twice daily as it germinated. Following distillation, the whisky was matured for over nine years. Founder, Anthony Wills, selected 43 ex-bourbon barrels, marrying the intense vanilla and butterscotch influence of the bourbon with the natural citrus sweetness and peat smoke of Kilchoman's spirit. In true 'farm distillery' fashion it was finally bottled on-site without colouring or chill-filtration.

Notes from Kilchoman... Nose: citrus sweetness, apricots, juniper and wild herbs. Palate: layers of lemon tart, vanilla, briny peat, smoke and dark maple syrup. Finish: long, clean, oily and intense as flavours fight for supremacy. 50% Alc./Vol.
