Originally released in two limited batches in 2018 and 2019, JD's Heritage Barrel was cemented into their standard range under the Single Barrel series. This example was bottled in 2018 from barrel number 18-6292, making it one of the original Heritage Barrel releases. To become a Heritage Barrel, the whiskey is casked at a lower ABV than normal, at 50%, which reportedly ups the texture profile and increases the flavour extraction from the cask. Also, the cask undergoes heavy charring for a longer period before getting a light char to top it off. A niche option in the catalogue but one that enthusiasts would appreciate. 50% Alc./Vol.
