Heartwood Night Thief Cask Strength Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

A follow up release to "‘Shade of Night", this is an x-Larks oloroso sherry matured whisky, bottled by Heartwood in April 2018 at 64.3% with a total of 299 bottles. Proprietor, Tim Duckett continues to create sensory explosions from his ever expanding repertoire of Tasmanian stocks. As usual, very limited.

Tasting note: Typically powerful, but with the prickle and heat down a notch - this is one mere mortals can handle at natural strength. There's a delicate bitterness through the middle stages, countered by rich, creamy malt. A peppery kick at the finish reminds you it's Heartwood, as does the deeply warming rush of alcohol, settling back with juicy dried fruits and sherry sweetness through the aftertaste. 64.3% Alc./Vol.
