Heartwood Devil in the Detail Cask Strength 15 Year Old Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

The "Heartwood" venture commenced in 1999 and represents a selection of casks, several containing some of Australia's oldest Tasmanian Whisky stocks, owned by Tim Duckett. The variety of barrel types include Bourbon and Australian Port and Sherry.

At 15 years of age, this ranks as one of the oldest Australian whiskies offered to date. Cask strength at 73.5%, distilled in April 2000 and fully matured in Bourbon casks it was finally released in May 2015. 152 bottles only. Given the quality of previous Heartwood releases, this should be eye opening to say the least, as well as an early indicator of just how far Aussie whiskies can go in barrel.
