Glenlivet Master Distillers Reserve Solera Vatted Single Malt Scotch Whisky (1000ml)

A follow up to the highly successful "Master Distiller's Reserve", both released in 2015 as travel retail exclusives. This one's also made up of whiskies matured in ex-Sherry casks, American oak casks and traditional oak (i.e. refill) casks. However, more first fill American oak matured whiskies make their way into the blend, with the final arrangement brought together in a 'never emptied' marrying vat. There, the whisky develops more complexity over time. A higher concentration of first-fill American oak adds creaminess, soft fudge and vanilla to the spirit. But according to Head Distiller, Alan Winchester, it’s the nose that grabs you – bursting with the smell of ripe orchard fruits alongside gentle caramel notes.
