Glengyle Distillery Kilkerran 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - 2023 Release

Even though they're relatively young, for many fans, the Kilkerran 8 year olds are where the real excitement starts. They usually come in two variants, a Bourbon Cask and a Sherry Cask edition, subject to change. The range and quality of sherry casks can combine in some interesting ways with Campbeltown spirits, and although the breakdown isn't stated, what is clear is that this is probably the darkest Kilkerran to date. Weighing in at a hefty ABV, it should be brimming with layers of dried fruits, spice and smoke. 57.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... Nose – Sweet and smoky, the peat influence comes through in notes of toasted marshmallows and smoked ham. Notes of dark chocolate and clove develop over time. Palate – The coastal influence comes to the forefront on the palate in notes of sea salt and fishing nets. along with a sweetness reminiscent of candied apples and toffee. Finish – The sweet peat influence remains in the finish in a burnt candy note.
