Glengyle Distillery Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - 2021 Release

On severe allocation in Australia is this new cask strength Kilkerran, a lightly peated Campbeltown malt. To compensate for its youth you get to enjoy this at natural strength. Having said that, these malts tend to be early maturers. Whereas previous releases have been in x Bourbon oak, the 2021 edition has been matured in 100% sherry casks and (reportedly) comes jam-packed with the usual orchard fruits, chocolate and festive spice notes along with some peat smoke. Reviews on the blogosphere suggest we have another winner on our hands. Expect a very intense coastal spirit with a wonderfully integrated Oloroso influence. 56.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
