Glengoyne 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

If you're in the market for a premium, sherry-soaked Highlander, Glengoyne deliver with this new 100% European oak Oloroso Sherry cask matured malt (a generous proportion of the barrels were first fill). Expected to be an annual Glengoyne, each release will amount to around 5000 bottles. It should be noted, the distillery is also taking a novel environmental approach to luxury packaging focusing on the second-use ability of the presentation case. The wooden box features removable plaques, peelable labels and removable inner fitments to allow its use as a de-branded, luxury storage cabinet once the whisky is finished. 46.8% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... [2018 edition tasted] This second annual limited release was matured in a combination of first-fill European oak sherry butts and refill sherry butts. Spicy orange marmalade on the nose, with plums dipped in honey, warm leather, polished oak, and cinnamon. The palate is oily, with dark sherry, cocktail cherries, ginger, espresso, and sweet oak.
