Tasting note: [20ml sample] Brassy gold. Seductive whiffs of sweet dried fruits (raisins, dates), ginger bread and a touch of struck match. Typically pure, full bodied and textural Glenglassaugh: Sulphur is evident, but it's eclipsed by a surge of aged muscat, honey and caramel in a deliciously dovetailed finish. Cleverly handled with judicious PX input, it's a superb dessert whisky. 46% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Notes from the producer: Colour: Harvest gold. Nose: Loaded with creamy vanilla and hints of white pepper over caramelised orchard fruits. Palate: A dusting of vanilla-infused Demerara sugar over pear tarte Tatin, finished with a cedar wood spice and rich, sweet barley.
