Another buxom beauty from Glenallachie arrives in this Port Wood Finish, part of a series of wood finishes resulting from Billy Walker's connections with niche producers around the globe. After eight years in American oak barrels the whisky was re-racked into premium Ruby Port Wood Pipes. Regular monitoring has ensured a fantastic balance between wood, wine and spirit. Like the rest of the range, this comes non chill filtered for maximum flavour.

Tasting note: The brilliant ruby-tinted topaz colour dazzles in the glass. Wonderfully expressive on the nose; whiffs of chocolate box, Turkish delight, dried cranberries and hints of raspberry jube. Superb, supple mouthfeel with the sweetness nicely checked. Expansive delivery: cherry ripe and rose hip, subtle berry acidity and a delicious succulence. Great balance. More tart to end. The purity of the port pick up combined with Glenallachie's weighty spirit makes for a big-hearted wood finish that's somehow graceful too. Hugely enjoyable. 48% Alc./Vol. 2000 cases worldwide.
