Tasting note: Matured in a combination of first and second-fill bourbon, PX puncheons, Oloroso hogsheads and virgin oak casks, like previous batches, this deeply coloured dram is generous on the nose: Sweet spices, creamy malt and fruit'n'nut chocolate follow in a mouthfilling flavour wave that includes orange oils, dark chocolate and a medley of baking spices. Hints of marmalade, sprinklings of black pepper and heavier wood input feature at the finish where the spices rise. Thick, honeyed and well balanced uncut, it will please anyone who enjoys maximum weight and flavour in their whisky, without entering peated territory.
