Established in 1948, independent Scotch whisky specialist, Douglas Laing & Co have released a brand new Island inspired “Vatted” Malt – Rock Oyster. There are two versions - one bottled at 46.8% and another at cask strength. Both whiskies demonstrate a truly maritime profile with aromas and flavours of sea-salt, sweet peat, smoke, honey and pepper. Containing top notch Whiskies from Scotland’s islands, including those distilled on Islay, Arran, Orkney and Jura, it’s no wonder Master Blender Fred Laing says “If I could select just one dram to transport the Whisky enthusiast to the Islands of Scotland, it would be this!" Notes from the bottler... Anticipate a big peat hit full of Islay phenols, iodine and coal dust, with a shake of pepper softening to a distinct honey sweetness from the Arran casks. The Isle of Jura brings waves of citrus and barley to the mix, and Orkney fetches up some salt from the deep.
