Bruichladdich Sherry Classic Fusion Fernando de Castilla Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Islay, SCOTLAND
$125. 00
Bottle
$1500.00 Dozen
ABV: 46%

A no-age-statement Bruichladdich designed to demonstrate the classic sherry-finished style. Matured in x-bourbon casks then finished in special sherry casks from the Bodega Fernando de Castilla. Non chill filtered.

Tasting note: Pale gold colour with a pale straw hue. Some sweetness to the aroma - boiled lollies, oatmeal, ginger biscuit and honey. Also evident is a forgivable trace of burnt rubber / pickled onion. In the mouth, an exceptionally soft, very gently warming spirit carries ginger biscuit / oatmeal flavours that seem slightly muted by the sulphur / rubber note. Some appealing characteristics here but they’re difficult to discern. Finishes with a delicious ginger biscuit burst that's also slightly salty. Overall very dry. Spicy, shortish aftertaste. 46% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... "What a fantastically stylish peice of work! I had an overwhelming urge to sing Noel Coward songs while tasting this: for the Dry Martini drinkers out there who have never thought of moving onto Scotch. " 46% Alc./Vol. 91 points
