A first edition in a four-part series exploring whiskies matured in Bowmore's Vault No.1, the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland. Straightforward ageing in x-bourbon barrels keeps the focus on the malt and helps reflect what Bowmore believe to be the vault's distinctive micro climate. In their words, "Atlantic sea spray that washes against the iconic sea-facing wall of the No.1 Vaults is a key note in this release." It echoes an old story about barrels being rolled from the warehouses into the sea to be loaded onto boats- in the process they picked up some seawater.
As a first edition with strong reviews, this should have investor upside.

Other reviews... This is the first of four bottlings in the Vault Edition series and was matured in bourbon barrels in the distillery’s famous No.1 Vaults. Nectarines in brine on the nose, with iodine and sweet spices. Medium-bodied on the palate, with peaches, vanilla, salt, and slightly bitter orange. Lingering orange notes in the finish, with cocoa powder and lots of salt. This expression lives up to its name! 51.5% Alc./Vol.
